Development and Evaluation of the Algorithm CErtaInty Tool (ACE-IT) to Assess Electronic Medical Record and Claims-based Algorithms ’ Fit for Purpose for Safety Outcomes
ConclusionThe ACE-IT supports a structured, transparent, and flexible approach for decision-makers to appraise whether electronic health record or medical claims-based algorithms for safety outcomes are FFP for a specific decision context. Reliability and validity testing using a larger sample of participants in other therapeutic areas and further modifications to reduce the time needed to complete the assessment are needed to fully evaluate its utility for regulatory decision-making.

MRI of Cerebrovascular Injury Associated With COVID-19 and Non-COVID-19 Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome: A Matched Case-Control Study
CONCLUSIONS: In a case-control study of selected ARDS patients with brain MRI, the frequencies of ischemic and hemorrhagic cerebrovascular injuries were similar between COVID-19 versus non-COVID-19 ARDS patients. However, the MRI pattern of disseminated hemorrhagic leukoencephalopathy was unique to the COVID-19 ARDS patients in this cohort.

Carotid body tumor encounters over a two-decade period in an academic hospital
Carotid body tumors (CBTs) are rare and mostly benign. Research outcomes usually arise from single-center data. We conducted this study to present the characteristics and outcomes of patients who underwent surgical resection of CBT at our hospital over the past 20 years. In this retrospective review, the records of CBTs in our hospital were reviewed between 1998 and 2021. All patients who underwent CBT resection were included. The follow-up period was 12 months.
