Clinical case of hyperlipidemia type IV in a man with diabetes, myocardial infarction and stroke
Aim: Hypercholesterolemia is one of the main risk factors of atherosclerosis development. Lipid disorders occur as a result of some genetic abnormalities or secondary to underlying disease, for example, diabetes mellitus. Insulin resistance in such patient is often the reason of hypertriglyceridemia and low serum high-density lipoprotein cholesterol concentrations. Hypertriglyceridemia is the most common lipid abnormality in young patients with myocardial infarction.

Insulin resistance among obese middle-aged is associated with decreased cerebrovascular reactivity
Conclusions: IR is associated with impaired CVR; the relationship appears to be driven by the degree of IR and not by obesity. These rarely reported results suggest that early forms of cerebrovascular dysfunction exist among obese middle-aged individuals with significant IR but without type 2 diabetes mellitus. These functional vascular abnormalities may help explain the associations among IR, diabetes, and dementia, and suggest that interventions aiming to improve IR or CVR may help prevent cognitive decline later in life.

Pre-stroke glycemia in patients with diabetes
Conclusion Insulin treatment and hyperlipidemia are associated with higher HbA1c levels in acute stroke patients with T2D. Poor adherence to diabetes treatment is associated with higher HbA1c levels only among patients with HbA1c ≥8%.

Conclusions: In the present study, we observed that early life exposure to PM2.5 may play an important role in the early life origins of COWO and may increase the risk of COWO in children of mothers who were overweight or obese before pregnancy beyond the risk that can be attributed to MPBMI alone. The Prevalence of Obesity Among Saudi Males in the Riyadh Region
Attendees of 15 health centers in Urban and rural areas in the Riyadh region were screened for obesity during May and June 1994. Systemic selection yielded 1580 Saudi males for analysis. The mean age was 33.6± 13.5 years and body mass index (BMI) was 26.9± 5.7 kg/m2. Only 36.6% of subjects were their ideal weight (BMI< 25 kg/m2), while 34.8% were overweight (BMI 25-29.9 kg/m2), 26.9% were moderately obese (BMI 3.0-40 kg/m2) and 1.7% were morbidly obese (BMI> 40 kg/m2). Metabolic syndrome in Egyptian patients with vitiligo: a case–control study
Conclusion: Vitiligo patients showed a better lipid profile, with higher levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and lower TGs and WC values. In patients with vitiligo, increased insulin levels and insulin resistance may be related to other mechanisms than obesity, such as production of cytokines or autoimmune reaction to melanocytes. Further large-scale studies are needed to confirm these findings.

Dual Antiplatelet Therapy in Patients with Diabetes and Acute Coronary Syndromes Managed without Revascularization
Conclusions Among NSTE ACS patients managed medically without revascularization, patients with DM had a higher risk of ischemic events that was amplified among those treated with insulin. There was no differential treatment effect with a more potent DAPT regimen of aspirin + prasugrel vs. aspirin + clopidogrel.
