Introduction Current efforts to reduce dementia focus on prevention and risk reduction by targeting modifiable risk factors. As dementia and cardiometabolic non-communicable diseases (NCDs) share risk factors, a single risk-estimating tool for dementia and multiple NCDs could be cost-effective and facilitate concurrent assessments as compared with a conventional single approach. Conclusion: Renal dysfunction is a frequent comorbidity in patients who are admitted with the diagnosis of acute stroke and had a higher mortality rate than stroke patients with normal renal function.

Predictors of failure of early neurological improvement in early time window following endovascular thrombectomy: a multi-center study
ConclusionDiabetes mellitus history, pre-stroke mRS, longer last known well-to-puncture time, lack of modified thrombolysis in cerebral infarction = 3, and the number of mechanical thrombectomy passes are the predictors of FENI. Future large-scale studies are required to validate these findings.

Diabetes mellitus and functional limitations among older adults: Evidence from a large, representative Ghanaian aging study
CONCLUSIONS: In this representative study, older adults with DM showed higher odds for FL, and this association was partially explained by physical activity and health variables. Disparities in ethnicity and metabolic disease burden in referrals to nephrology
CONCLUSION: A disproportionately large number of Malay patients are referred for kidney disease. These patients have higher metabolic disease burden, tend to miss appointments and are referred at lower eGFR.
