Mp13: important role of prothrombin time (pt) and partial thromboplastin time (ptt) in predicting tpa-related hemorrhagic transformation
Conclusions Higher PT/PTT level within 72 hr of IV tPA is early marker of tPA-induced HT. Whether these routine labs have value in symptomatic hemorrhage will require further study in a larger cohort. But this proof-of-concept study suggests that tPA efficacy can potentially be followed in real time. Significance of cyclooxygenase-2 elevation in middle cerebral artery for patients with hemorrhagic moyamoya disease
In this study, tiny pieces of middle cerebral artery (MCA) and superficial temporal artery (STA) from 13 MMD patients were surgically harvested. The MCA and STA samples from 5 control patients were also collected by using the same technique. The expression of COX-2 was immunohistochemically detected and the average absorbance (A) of positively-stained areas was measured. High-level COX-2 expression was found in all layers of the MCA samples from all 5 hemorrhagic MMD patients, while positive but weak expression of COX-2 was observed only in the endothelial layer of the MCA samples from most ischemic MMD patients (6/8, 75%)...

Intracerebral and Intravenous Transplantation Represents a Favorable Approach for Application of Human Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stromal Cells in Intracerebral Hemorrhage Rats.
CONCLUSIONS Both intracerebral and intravenous administration of UC-MSCs could have a favorable effect on recovery of neurological function in ICH rats, although the fundamental mechanisms may be different between the two groups. Our data suggest that intravenous implantation of UC-MSCs could serve as a favorable approach for cell-based therapy in central nervous system (CNS) diseases according to clinical needs. Effect of Admission Hyperglycemia on 6-Month Functional Outcome in Patients with Spontaneous Cerebellar Hemorrhage.
CONCLUSIONS To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study focusing on the relationship between hyperglycemia and long-term functional outcome after CH. The study combined with previous pertinent reports definitely indicates the poor effect of hyperglycemia on both supra- and infratentorial ICH independent of hemorrhage site. α7 Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor Stimulation Attenuates Neuroinflammation through JAK2-STAT3 Activation in Murine Models of Intracerebral Hemorrhage.
This study aimed to evaluate whether α7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (α7nAChR) stimulation ameliorates neuroinflammation after ICH. Male CD-1 mice and Sprague-Dawley were subjected to intracerebral injection of autologous blood or bacterial collagenase. Effects of Mannitol 20% on Outcomes in Nontraumatic Intracerebral Hemorrhage.

Cerebral microbleeds: hearing through the silence - a narrative review.
CONCLUSIONS: It is critical for nonradiologist clinicians (primary care, internists, neurologists, hematologists) to be aware of the potential importance of the finding of a CMB, and the fact that these lesions are not always truly silent or without important clinical consequences.
