Role of (Pro)Renin Receptor in Cyclosporin A-Induced Nephropathy
Am J Physiol Renal Physiol. 2022 Jan 24. doi: 10.1152/ajprenal.00332.2021. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTCalcineurin inhibitors (CNIs) such as cyclosporin A (CsA) have been widely used to improve graft survival following solid-organ transplantation. However, the clinical use of CsA is often limited by its nephrotoxicity. The present study tested the hypothesis that activation of (pro)renin receptor (PRR) contributes to CsA-induced nephropathy by activating the renin-angiotensin system (RAS). Renal injury in male Sprague-Dawley rats was induced by a low-salt diet combined with CsA as evidenced by elevated plasma creatinine ...

Transplantation of IL-1 β siRNA-modified bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells ameliorates type II collagen-induced rheumatoid arthritis in rats
Exp Ther Med. 2022 Feb;23(2):139. doi: 10.3892/etm.2021.11062. Epub 2021 Dec 14.ABSTRACTRheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes erosion of articular cartilage and bone and has adverse effects on both patients and livestock animals. The aim of the present study was to investigate the role of interleukin-1β (IL-1β) in the pathogenesis of RA, and to further determine whether injection of IL-1β small interfering RNA (siRNA) or transplantation of IL-1β siRNA + bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) can ameliorate RA in rats. A collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) rat model was established by in...

Prof. Transient receptor potential vanilloid 4 promotes the growth of non-small cell lung cancer by regulating Foxp3
CONCLUSIONS: Antitumor effects caused by TRPV4 inhibition in NSCLC might be attributed to the suppression of Foxp3 which induced subsequent cell apoptosis. Thus, pharmacological inhibition of TRPV4 may be a promising option for NSCLC treatment.PMID:34995050 | DOI:10.18388/abp.2020_5614

CircRNA ANXA2 Promotes Lung Cancer Proliferation and Metastasis by Upregulating PDPK1 Expression
This study focused on the role of circRNA ANXA2 (circANXA2) in lung cancer and the molecular mechanism of cancer promotion. Real-time quantitative PCR (RT-PCR) was used in detecting the expression abundance of circANXA2 in different lung cancer cells and tissues. The subcellular localization of circANXA2 was detected through fluorescence in situ hybridization. circANXA2 expression was knocked down through siRNA. CCK-8, clone formation assay, and TUNEL assay were used in evaluating the effects of circANXA2 on cell proliferation, clone formation ability, and apoptosis. The role of circANXA2 in tumor proliferation was further...
