PPAR γ Mediates Protective Effect against Hepatic Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury via NF-κB Pathway
CONCLUSIONS: PPARγ present protective effects on HIRI by attenuating liver injury, inflammatory response, oxidative stress and apoptosis in vivo and in vitro, and its mechanism may be related to down-regulation of NF-κB signaling.PMID:35732295 | DOI:10.1080/08941939.2022.2090033

Ferroptosis mediated by the interaction between Mfn2 and IRE α promotes arsenic-induced nonalcoholic steatohepatitis.
Ferroptosis mediated by the interaction between Mfn2 and IREα promotes arsenic-induced nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. Environ Res. 2020 Jun 23;188:109824 Authors: Wei S, Qiu T, Wang N, Yao X, Jiang L, Jia X, Tao Y, Zhang J, Zhu Y, Yang G, Liu X, Liu S, Sun X Abstract Exposure to arsenic is a risk factor for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Ferroptosis is a form of regulated cell death defined by the accumulation of lipid peroxidation. In the current study, we observed the occurrence of ferroptosis in arsenic-induced NASH by assessing ferroptosis related hallmarks. In vitro, we found that ferrostat...

Mangiferin promotes macrophage cholesterol efflux and protects against atherosclerosis by augmenting the expression of ABCA1 and ABCG1.
In conclusion, mangiferin may attenuate atherogenesis by promoting cholesterol efflux from macrophages via the PPARγ-LXRα-ABCA1/G1 pathway. PMID: 31790366 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor γ Agonist Rosiglitazone Protects Blood–Brain Barrier Integrity Following Diffuse Axonal Injury by Decreasing the Levels of Inflammatory Mediators Through a Caveolin-1-Dependent Pathway
In conclusion, we provide evidence that PPAR γ plays an important role in a series of processes associated with DAI, and that the PPARγ agonist RSG can protect BBB integrity by decreasing the levels of inflammatory mediators through a caveolin-1-dependent pathway.

Ability to Suppress TGF- β-Activated Myofibroblast Differentiation Distinguishes the Anti-pulmonary Fibrosis Efficacy of Two Danshen-Containing Chinese Herbal Medicine Prescriptions
Conclusion: This study suggests that a clinically efficacious cardiovascular Chinese herbal medicine (DLP) can be successfully repurposed to treat a lung disease in pulmonary fibrosis guided by TCM theory. Our comparative study between DLP and DHP demonstrated a critical requirement of suppressing both pro-inflammatory and pro-fibrotic pathways for the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis, supporting that a multi-component prescription capable of “removing both phlegm and blood stasis” will better achieve co-protection of heart and lung in PHD. Introduction Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic ...

A Novel Regulator of Preadipocyte Differentiation, Transcription Factor TCF21, Functions Partially Through Promoting LPL Expression
Discussion Excessive fat deposition in chickens can result in many undesirable consequences within the poultry industry, including reduced feeding efficiency (Zhou et al., 2006) and decreased reproductive performance (Walzem and Chen, 2014). Thus, broiler breeders urgently require a more thorough understanding of the molecular mechanism governing chicken adipogenesis. We previously found that broilers from lean and fat lines exhibit clear differences in reproductive performance (Zhang et al., 2018). In addition, TCF21 was found to be related to testis growth and development in these broilers (Zhang et al., 2017). In mice ...

Involvement of lncR-30245 in Myocardial Infarction–Induced Cardiac Fibrosis Through Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor-γ–Mediated Connective Tissue Growth Factor Signalling Pathway
ConclusionOur study indicates that the lncR-30245/PPAR-γ/CTGF pathway mediates MI-induced cardiac fibrosis and might be a therapeutic target for various cardiac diseases associated with fibrosis.RésuméContexteLes longs ARN non codants (lncRNA) se révèlent actuellement comme des médiateurs importants de la physiopathologie cardiaque.

Rosiglitazone augments antioxidant response in the human trophoblast and prevents apoptosis.
In this study, we first examined whether rosiglitazone, an agonist of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ (PPARγ), protects the human trophoblast from oxidative injury by regulating key antioxidant proteins, catalase (CAT) and the superoxide dismutases (SOD1 and SOD2). In first trimester placental explants, localization of CAT was limited to cytotrophoblasts, whereas SOD1 was expressed in both the cyto- and syncytiotrophoblasts. In first trimester placental explants, hypoxia decreased the expression of both SOD1 and SOD2, and increased apoptosis. Treatment with rosiglitazone dose-dependently upregulated anti...

Inhibitory Effects of a Novel PPAR- γ Agonist MEKT1 on Pomc Expression/ACTH Secretion in AtT20 Cells.
Inhibitory Effects of a Novel PPAR-γ Agonist MEKT1 on Pomc Expression/ACTH Secretion in AtT20 Cells. PPAR Res. 2018;2018:5346272 Authors: Parvin R, Noro E, Saito-Hakoda A, Shimada H, Suzuki S, Shimizu K, Miyachi H, Yokoyama A, Sugawara A Abstract Although therapeutic effects of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR-γ) agonists rosiglitazone and pioglitazone against Cushing's disease have been reported, their effects are still controversial and inconsistent. We therefore examined the effects of a novel PPAR-γ agonist, MEKT1, on Pomc expression/ACTH secretion using murine corticot...
