Expression of MACC1 protein in gastric cancer and its effect on proliferation and invasion of gastric cancer cells.
CONCLUSION: MACC1 was highly expressed in gastric cancer tissues. The expression of MACC1 was related to the differentiation degree, infiltration depth, lymph node metastasis and staging of gastric cancer. Down-regulation of MACC1 could inhibit the proliferation and invasion of gastric cancer cells. This study provided a certain biological basis for early clinical prediction, diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer. PMID: 32415936 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Knockdown of Angiopoietin-like protein 4 suppresses the development of colorectal cancer.
Authors: Wen L, Zhang Y, Yang B, Han F, Ebadi AG, Toughani M Abstract Colorectal cancer, is the growth of cancer cells in the part of the colon. Angiopeptin is one of the growth factors in the human body that is particularly effective in the regulatory process. In this research, the regulatory role and its mechanism of Angiopoietin-like protein 4 (ANGPTL4) in colorectal cancer (CRC) metastasis, has been studied. Protein expression of ANGPLT4 was analyzed by immunohistochemistry in tumor samples and adjacent normal specimens of 40 patients with CRC cancer of various phases. A gene knockout test was conducted, two ef...

LINC00538 promotes the progression of colon cancer through inhibiting NKD2 expression.
CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrated for the first time that LINC00538 was highly expressed in colon cancer and was associated with poor prognosis of patients. Knockdown of LINC00538 in colon cancer cell lines was able to inhibit the cell proliferation and cell cycle, while it promoted the apoptosis. It's mechanism of participating in the development of colon cancer may be through the down-regulation of NKD2 and the regulation of EZH2. PMID: 33455110 [PubMed - in process]

Cancers, Vol. 13, Pages 1759: Zona Pellucida Protein 2 (ZP2) Is Expressed in Colon Cancer and Promotes Cell Proliferation
Conclusion: ZP2 shows an enhanced expression level in colon cancer tissue and, thus, can be used as a diagnostic tool, albeit in combination with other biomarkers. Its character as a membrane protein makes ZP2 even a potential target molecule for tumor therapy, especially as it positively affects colon cancer cell proliferation.

GSE155231 RNA-seq data of prefoldin subunits PFDN2 and PFDN5 knockdowns in HCT116 human colon carcinoma cells
We report gene expression data from total RNA-seq of HCT116 human colon carcinoma cells treated with siRNA against PFDN2 and PFDN5 (both part of a complex known as prefoldin). Cells were independently treated with one of the previously mentioned siRNAs or with an exogenous control siRNA (luciferase GL2). All cells were treated with the different siRNAs for 24 hours, then serum-starved them for 48 hours, and finally stimulated by adding serum for 90 minutes. Samples were taken before and after serum stimulation. Prefoldin depletion provoked transcriptional alterations across the genome of human cells. Severe pre-mRNA splici...

IGF-1R depletion sensitizes colon cancer cell lines to radiotherapy
CONCLUSION: Our findings demonstrate that depletion of IGF-1R lead to an increase in radiosensitivity in CRC.PMID:34092618 | DOI:10.3233/CBM-210016
