Challenges to medication adherence with intranasal corticosteroid irrigations
Conclusion: Adherence to corticosteroid irrigations was low and patients underreported issues with their medication. The Tissue Lymphocyte-to-Eosinophil Ratio Predicted Long-Term Recurrence of Eosinophilic CRSwNP
CONCLUSION: Tissue LER is strongly associated with Eos-CRSwNP recurrence and may play a key role in predicting long-term Eos-CRSwNP recurrence.PMID:37271971 | DOI:10.1177/19458924231179615

Predictive factors of revision endoscopic sinus surgery
ConclusionsFactors like peripheral eosinophilia and Lund –Mackay score were associated with a higher probability of revision ESS. Applying these concepts to the clinical practice could help predict the evolution of patient’s pathology in the post-operative period and identify in advance those cases that may need a multidisciplinary approach.

Aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease: Updates in the era of biologics
CONCLUSION: Advances in our understanding of the fundamental drivers of the chronic respiratory inflammation in asthma and CRSwNP has led to the identification of several potential therapeutic targets for these diseases that can be utilized in patients with AERD. Further study of the use of ATAD and biologic therapy, independently and together, will help to inform future treatment algorithms for patients with AERD.PMID:37225000 | DOI:10.1016/j.anai.2023.05.016

Surgical Management of Rhinosinusitus for the Allergist-Immunologist
Ann Allergy Asthma Immunol. 2023 May 21:S1081-1206(23)00357-5. doi: 10.1016/j.anai.2023.05.015. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTChronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is a common chronic inflammatory disease characterized by inflammation of the sinus with or without nasal passage inflammation occurring for more than 12 weeks at a time. CRS is historically categorized into two categories: chronic sinusitis without nasal polyps (CRSsNP) or chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP ∼ 25%-30% of cases). The mainstay of treatment for CRS with or without nasal polyps is medical management and options may include a combination of saline ...
