The University Chaplain: An Often Unrecognised Resource in Suicide Prevention —Initial Qualitative Results from Exploratory Research into the Roles of University Chaplains at One Australian University
AbstractUniversity chaplains are often unrecognised as resources in suicide prevention. This exploratory article highlights the valuable contributions university chaplains at one Australian university make to suicide prevention. Three overarching themes related to the contributions of university chaplains to suicide prevention were generated: (1) person-centred care; (2) the role of university chaplains in suicide prevention; and (3) professional development. Of particular note is that university chaplains actively contribute to all three phases of the suicide prevention framework: prevention, intervention, and postvention...

Ambulatory total hip and knee arthroplasty: a literature review and perioperative considerations
CONCLUSION: Anesthesia for TJA has evolved as such that same-day discharge will become the norm for selected patients. It is essential to establish pathways for early discharge to prevent adverse effects and readmission in this population. As more data are generated from an increased volume of ambulatory TJA, more robust evidence will emerge for the ideal anesthetic components to optimize outcomes.PMID:38504037 | DOI:10.1007/s12630-024-02699-0 (Source: Canadian Journal of Anaesthesia)

Continuing Professional Development Activities Provided by Continuing Pharmacy Education Providers from 2018 through 2023
CONCLUSION: This study identified that most CPE activities and learning objectives reflected educational interventions without inclusion or use of the CPD cycle or process, suggesting that additional provider education on the implementation of CPD and differentiation between CPE and CPD may be necessary.PMID:38490562 | DOI:10.1016/j.ajpe.2024.100685 (Source: American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education)
