Continuing Professional Development Activities Provided by Continuing Pharmacy Education Providers from 2018 through 2023
CONCLUSION: This study identified that most CPE activities and learning objectives reflected educational interventions without inclusion or use of the CPD cycle or process, suggesting that additional provider education on the implementation of CPD and differentiation between CPE and CPD may be necessary.PMID:38490562 | DOI:10.1016/j.ajpe.2024.100685 (Source: American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education)

Professional development through mentoring: Final evaluation of the pilot mentoring programme of the European society of radiotherapy and oncology
A large body of literature exists on the importance of mentoring in healthcare. It is increasingly recognized as a bidirectional process where both mentors and mentees benefit. Benefits for the mentees include increased self-efficacy, job satisfaction and productivity at work, while mentors can benefit through personal fulfilment, and the development of leadership and coaching skills [1]. These advantages are also pertinent for radiation oncology (RO). While mentorship appears to be exceptionally valuable also in RO, it remains understudied [2 –4]. (Source: Radiotherapy and Oncology)

Transformative Learning Emerging From Challenges First-Year Students Experienced
CONCLUSION: Building on previous work, analysis of the lived experiences of first-year DPT students revealed a process of transformational learning through challenge. This process highlights the importance of recognizing and supporting the significant incidental learning that occurs in our students during their journey through PT school. Faculty focusing solely on content knowledge, skills, and even critical thinking may not recognize and support the incidental learning occurring and may be missing significant transformational learning opportunities.PMID:38478842 | DOI:10.1097/JTE.0000000000000250 (Source: Health Physics)

Applying the 2022 Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Entry-Level Physical Therapist Competencies to Physical Therapist Education and Practice
CONCLUSION: The establishment of entry-level competencies is essential for use by multiple stakeholders to inform physical therapist curriculum, provide clinical instructors with a reference for expected levels of proficiency during final student clinical experiences, guide content on the Federation of State Boards of PT national licensure examination, and prepare employers to provide needed continued professional development, based on the clinical environment. These competencies lend themselves to the future development of EPAs in the PT profession for CVP PT.PMID:38478807 | DOI:10.1097/JTE.0000000000000285 (Source: Health Physics)

Preparing Clinicians for Roles in Academic Teaching: A Model for Clinical Associated Faculty Development
CONCLUSION: A CAF longitudinal faculty development program was developed and successfully implemented at 2 universities. This model could be used as a template by other DPT programs to address the existing faculty development gap and support the distinctive needs of CAF.PMID:38478816 | DOI:10.1097/JTE.0000000000000289 (Source: Physical Therapy)

Professional Development for Associated Faculty: A National Assessment of Available Resources
CONCLUSION: A lack of formal development opportunities exists for AF. Excellence in DPT education requires deeper development across all levels of faculty, including opportunities tailored specifically to the unique needs and role of AF.PMID:38478815 | DOI:10.1097/JTE.0000000000000284 (Source: Physical Therapy)

Work-life balance and online student engagement among registered nurses enrolled in online graduate nursing education: a mixed methods study
CONCLUSION: Work-life balance facilitates better online student engagement among graduate nursing students and is influenced by time management, work (i.e. job environment and stressors), personal (i.e. home life and leisure activities), and university factors (i.e. curriculum, modality, and professors).IMPACT STATEMENT: Empirical evidence on the link between WLB and OSE can inform graduate nursing academics in developing initiatives to ensure the timely completion of the degree program.PMID:38478990 | DOI:10.1080/10376178.2024.2327350 (Source: Contemporary Nurse)
