APOBEC3C is a novel target for the immune treatment of lower-grade gliomas
CONCLUSIONS: A3C is an immune-related prognostic biomarker in LGGs. Developing drugs to block A3C could enhance the efficiency of immunotherapy and improve disease survival.Abbreviation: A3C: Apolipoprotein B mRNA editing catalytic polypeptide-like (APOBEC) type 3C; LGGs: lower-grade gliomas; CGGA: Chinese Glioma Genome Atlas; WGCNA: Weighted gene co-expression network analysis; scRNA: Single-cell RNA; HGG: higher-grade glioma; OS: overall survival; TME: tumor microenvironment; KM: Kaplan-Meier; PFI: progression-free interval; IDH: isocitrate dehydrogenase; ROC: receiver operating characteristic; GS: gene significance; MM:...

Composite paraganglioma-ganglioneuroma with atypical catecholamine profile and phenylethanolamine N-methyltransferase expression: a case report and literature review
We present the case of a 46-year-old woman with an atypical catecholamine profile who was preoperatively diagnosed with pheochromocytoma. However, postoperative pathology revealed that the patient had an extra-adrenal paraganglioma accompanied by a ganglioneuroma, which led to the diagnosis of a composite tumor. Interestingly, PNMT is expressed in both paragangliomas and ganglioneuromas. In addition, we reviewed reported composite paragangliomas and compared their clinical features with those of composite pheochromocytomas. We also discuss various aspects of the etiology of composite paragangliomas and the mechanism by whi...

The inferior performance of [ < sup > 68 < /sup > Ga]Ga-FAPI-04 PET/CT as a diagnostic and theranostic biomarker in [ < sup > 177 < /sup > Lu]Lu-DOTATATE refractory well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors
CONCLUSION: Our preliminary results demonstrated that [68Ga]Ga-FAPI-04 PET/CT mainly failed in well-differentiated NETs refractory to [177Lu]Lu-DOTATATE therapy and had a limited role as an alternative diagnostic or theranostic agent. Further investigations with a larger patient population are required to determine the impact of [68Ga]Ga-FAPI-04 PET/CT on NETs.PMID:37947850 | DOI:10.1007/s00259-023-06497-6 (Source: Molecular Medicine)

Responses to systemic therapy in metastatic pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma - A retrospective multi-center cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrate in a real-life clinical setting that all current therapies show reasonable efficacy in preventing disease progression, and this is equally true for patients with germline SDHB mutations.PMID:37949483 | DOI:10.1093/ejendo/lvad146 (Source: Cancer Control)
