Feasibility evaluation of novel AI-based deep-learning contouring algorithm for radiotherapy
CONCLUSIONS: The highest agreement registered between OARs generated by Organs-RT and their respective references was for the bladder, heart, lungs, and femoral heads, with an overall DSC≥0.92. The poorest agreement was for the rectum, esophagus, and lips, with an overall DSC⩽0.81. Nonetheless, Organs-RT serves as a reliable auto-contouring tool by minimizing overall contouring time and increasing time-saving efficiency in radiotherapy treatment planning.PMID:37464581 | DOI:10.1002/acm2.14090 (Source: Clinical Lung Cancer)

RAS-dependent RAF-MAPK hyperactivation by pathogenic RIT1 is a therapeutic target in Noonan syndrome-associated cardiac hypertrophy
Sci Adv. 2023 Jul 14;9(28):eadf4766. doi: 10.1126/sciadv.adf4766. Epub 2023 Jul 14.ABSTRACTRIT1 is a RAS guanosine triphosphatase (GTPase) that regulates different aspects of signal transduction and is mutated in lung cancer, leukemia, and in the germline of individuals with Noonan syndrome. Pathogenic RIT1 proteins promote mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) hyperactivation; however, this mechanism remains poorly understood. Here, we show that RAF kinases are direct effectors of membrane-bound mutant RIT1 necessary for MAPK activation. We identify critical residues in RIT1 that facilitate interaction with membrane lip...

My assistive technology outcomes framework: rights-based outcome tools for consumers to 'measure what matters'
Assist Technol. 2023 Jul 12:1-9. doi: 10.1080/10400435.2023.2229891. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTAT outcomes research is the systematic investigation of changes produced by AT in the lives of AT users and their environments. In contrast to focal outcome measures, My Assistive Technology Outcomes Framework (MyATOF) envisions an alternative starting point, co-designing a holistic and evidence-based set of outcome dimensions enabling AT users to quantify their own outcomes. International classification systems, research evidence, regulatory and service delivery frameworks underpin six optional tools: supports, outcomes, cos...

Self ‐efficacy in the context of nursing education and transition to practice as a registered practitioner: A systematic review
AbstractAimThe aim of this systematic review is to identify, describe and synthesize evidence from experimental studies conducted to measure and conceptualize self-efficacy within the context of nursing education and the transition of nursing students to practice as a registered practitioners.DesignSystematic review.MethodsPapers were screened by four independent reviewers, and data were extracted using a standardized data extraction tool. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidance and checklists were used to guide this review.ResultsThe review included 47 studies, using a quas...
