Seasonal distribution of repeat breeder cows and evaluation of modified protocols for post AI treatment during summer
In this study, one farm in Northern Greece was chosen on the basis of subfertility. First, the available reproductive data of the previous year were evaluated; then, the farmer was advised to use the most common treatments for RB [GnRH with the third artificial insemination (AI+GnRH) or ovsynch in cows found empty after the second AI], and their efficacy was monitored throughout the year. Cows (n = 147) 2.5 to 4.5 years old were included. During the next year, post AI treatments (meta-ovsynch and meta-AI) were used during summer; GnRH (100 μg of gonadorelin) alone or in combination with meloxicam (0.5 mg/kg BW) was used d...

Vaccination against Extracellular Vimentin for Treatment of Urothelial Cancer of the Bladder in Client-Owned Dogs
Cancers (Basel). 2023 Aug 3;15(15):3958. doi: 10.3390/cancers15153958.ABSTRACTIt was recently shown that targeting extracellular vimentin (eVim) is safe and effective in preclinical models. Here, we report the safety and efficacy in client-owned dogs with spontaneous bladder cancer of CVx1, an iBoost technology-based vaccine targeting eVim in combination with COX-2 inhibition. This was a single-arm prospective phase 1/2 study with CVx1 in 20 client-owned dogs with spontaneous UC which involved four subcutaneous vaccinations with CVx1 at 2-week intervals for induction of antibody titers, followed by maintenance vaccinations...

Development of Prediction Model Using Machine-Learning Algorithms for Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drug-Induced Gastric Ulcer in Osteoarthritis Patients: Retrospective Cohort Study of a Nationwide South Korean Cohort
CONCLUSIONS: We obtained a prediction model for NSAID-induced gastric ulcers using the GBM method. Since personal prescription period and the severity of comorbidities were considered numerically, individual patients' risk could be well reflected. The prediction model showed high performance and interpretability, so it is meaningful to both clinicians and NSAID users.PMID:37529187 | PMC:PMC10375806 | DOI:10.4055/cios22240 (Source: Clinics in Orthopedic Surgery)
