Suboxone via telemedicine in California
Got offered a locums gig doing this part time. I have a full CA license. While telemedicine is permitted in CA, I cannot find any guidelines permitting or denying suboxone via telemedicine. Any insight? I assume there will be medical ancillary staff onsite at this clinic. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Not another salary/moonlighting/locums rate thread
Ok I lied. It is about rates. Last thread few months ago said 100-150/hr too low for BC/BE. I did locums for a bit at $175/hr with an 8 hr guarantee before my FT gig opened. Mountain time zone metro area - adult inpatient with 15-20 beds. Rounding, admits, and pager.....for Fri PM to Mon AM (60 hours) and Sat AM to Sun PM (36 hours) what would be reasonable? I would have a few hours vehicle travel and hotel to cover as well. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Hospitalist Locum Tenens
For hospitalist locum tenens, I am wondering if anyone contacted the hospitals directly and got very good hourly rates instead of going through a recruiter? Also, I've heard of people getting called to cover dates during times of desperation and being able to negotiate higher rates...Is that true or does it only apply for people who negotiate directly with hospitals as a contractor (without the locum company)? Would I be able to get better rates if I cold called hospitals and negotiated... Hospitalist Locum Tenens (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Anyone with travel experience with the big groups locums
I am 3rd year Resident. I am older, 38. 340k in debt looking for high income. My wife has a job with benefits so i dont need that. I want to live in my current state OH, low cost of living. Is it better to work as 1099 for Temahealth, Envision, Shumacher, USACS or with locum companies. What has your experience been both negative and positives. Any cautionary tales. How does one do this effectively. Thanks (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Understanding Pay for EM Physicians
Hello all, I'm wondering about the compensation rates and employment types for EM physicians. Correct me where I'm wrong as I'm sure don't have this all straight Independent contractors (1099 workers) - Paid per hour. Probably the highest income, can exceed 400k but is liable for indemnity cover, accountant bills, no pension, no medical/dental. Can have a recurring contract with a hospital for years or can locum on the road. Salaried Positions - Somewhere from 200-300k.... Understanding Pay for EM Physicians (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Health Insurance as an IC
So I am full locums now and do just IC work. All 1099, plus ownership in FSED. I also have alot of rental properties if that even matters. I am currently on Cobra that has a decent plan but will only last for 18 months. I have an LLC and am the sole owner. How is everyone getting their insurance as an IC esp in Texas? I have looked into the Obamacare exchange and all of the plans are terrible and our docs are not on the plan. The Christian ministry plans comes across as not true... Locums Offer in Arizona - Please weigh in / critique.
I have been looking to supplement my income and have been offered the following by a Locums agency in Arizona. I spoke on the phone to the director of anesthesia at the proposed location. I told them I was looking for a per diem / weekend / occasional couple of days assignments to complement my full-time job and was advised that they would be very much in favor of such an arrangement. The Hard Facts: 1) Supervision only within the team model - max 3:1 2) In-House call 3) $1400/8 hour day... Locums Offer in Arizona - Please weigh in / critique. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Lucidity - Anybody have experience with this Locums website/app?
Hi Gang, Last time I posted, I was a MS4 eager to become an anesthesiologist. Now I'm posting as a 2nd year attending at a southeast academic institution. I've been thinking of supplementing my income with some locums work and came across this website/app: Lucidity - luciditydirect . Does anybody have any experience with this? It seems straightforward and hip with a nice app and good looking website. It seems to have positioned itself as an Air BNB of sorts, acting as the...
