Machine Learning Approach for the Determination of the Best Cut-Off Points for Ki67 Proliferation Index in Adjuvant and Neo-Adjuvant Therapy Breast Cancer Patients
CONCLUSION: Despite variability in measurement and cut-off points, the Ki-67 proliferation index is still helpful in the clinic. Further investigation is needed to determine the best cut-off points for different patients. The sensitivity and specificity of Ki-67 cutoff point prediction models in this study could further prove its significance as a prognostic factor.PMID:37156698 | DOI:10.1016/j.clbc.2023.03.015 (Source: Clinical Genitourinary Cancer)

Pathologic Tumor Size versus Mammography, Sonography, and MRI in Breast Cancer Based on Pathologic Subtypes
DISCUSSION: Mammography and MRI consistently overestimated tumor size with the exception of ILC while US underestimated tumor size on all pathologic subtypes. MRI significantly overestimated tumor size in DCIS by 5.77 mm. Mammography was the most accurate imaging modality for all pathologic subtypes and never had a statistically significant difference from actual tumor size.PMID:37140069 | DOI:10.1177/00031348231174019 (Source: The American Surgeon)

Carcinoma with signet ring cell differentiation associated with invasive breast cancer: A case report
Oncol Lett. 2023 Apr 6;25(5):212. doi: 10.3892/ol.2023.13798. eCollection 2023 May.ABSTRACTCarcinoma with signet ring cell differentiation is uncommon in patients with invasive breast cancer. Clinical evidence has suggested that the prognosis of this tumor is usually poor if the stage is advanced. The case of a 40-year-old female patient with primary cancer in the right breast accompanied by bilateral neck, axillary, right subclavian and mediastinal lymph node metastases, and left breast metastasis is presented in the current study. The patient developed superior vena cava syndrome and was restricted in lifting the upper r...

Performance of [18F]FDG-PET/CT Imaging in First Recurrence of Invasive Lobular Carcinoma
CONCLUSIONS: FDG-PET/CT is an effective and reliable tool for the detection of invasive lobular carcinoma recurrence, although certain recurrence sites specific to this histological type can impair its diagnostic performance.PMID:37109252 | DOI:10.3390/jcm12082916 (Source: Clinical Lung Cancer)

Altered cytokeratin 5 expression in breast lobular myoepithelial cells
CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that CK5 expression in lobular MECs may be altered by contact with cancerous luminal cells rather than benign hyperplastic luminal cells or pressure from dilated glands.PMID:37116947 | DOI:10.1136/jcp-2023-208835 (Source: Clinical Breast Cancer)
