The study included sixty outpatients whose biopsies revealed OPMDs (oral lichen planus, homogeneous leukoplakia, non-homogenous leukoplakia and erythroplakia). There is decrease in post-operative pain and oedema in all four treatment categories at one week follow ...

Assessment of clinical efficacy of 445  nm Diode laser as an adjunct to Kirkland flap surgery in the management of periodontitis – a split mouth randomized clinical trial
AbstractAim of this study is to assess the clinical efficacy of 445  nm Diode laser as an adjunct to Kirkland flap surgery in management of periodontitis. Type of study is a Split mouth clinical trial in which a total of 13 patients were recruited based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. In each participant, random allocation of selected sites into test and control in contralateral quadrants was done. Clinical parameters such as probing depth and clinical attachment loss was measured in control and test sites using occlusal stents. Flap surgery was carried out 6 weeks after phase I therapy and the selected con...

Refractive results of photorefractive keratectomy comparing trans-PRK and PTK −PRK for correction of myopia and myopic astigmatism
ConclusionBoth investigated methods provide safe and effective refractive results. The combination of PTK with PRK may be a suitable option to the already used one-steptPRK for the correction of myopia. (Source: International Ophthalmology)

Negative MRI and a seizure onset zone close to eloquent areas in FCD type II: Application of MRg-LiTT after a SEEG re-evaluation in pediatric patients with a previous failed surgery
CONCLUSIONS: The combined use of SEEG and MRg-LiTT in complex cases can lead to good outcomes both as a rescue therapy after failed surgery, but also as an alternative to open surgery after a successful SEEG-guided Radiofrequency Thermocoagulation (RF-TC). Specific SEEG patterns and a previous good outcome from RF-TC can be predictors of a favourable outcome.PMID:38401416 | DOI:10.1016/j.yebeh.2024.109694 (Source: Epilepsy and Behaviour)
