Comparative Efficacy and Safety of Antipsychotic Drugs for Tic Disorders: A Systematic Review and Bayesian Network Meta-Analysis
Conclusions Atypical antipsychotics (risperidone and aripiprazole) appear to be the most robust evidence-based options for the treatment of TDs. Quetiapine may be a promising therapy. Ziprasidone and olanzapine are also effective, but the evidence is lacking. Further high-quality directly comparing different pharmacological treatment studies are justified. Impact of Chronic Cannabis Use on Auditory Mismatch Negativity Generation in Schizophrenia Patients
This study therefore examined the effects of CUD on MMN generation in SCZ patients. Methods Twenty SCZ − CUD patients, 21 SCZ+CUD patients, and 20 healthy controls (HC) were included in this study. MMN to frequency and duration deviants was elicited within an auditory oddball paradigm and recorded by 32 channel EEG. Results As expected, SCZ − CUD patients showed reduced frontocentral MMN amplitudes to duration deviants compared to HC. Interestingly, SCZ+CUD patients demonstrated greater MMN amplitudes to duration deviants compared to SCZ − CUD patients at central electrodes with no differences compared to HC. Discuss...

Lithium Treatment in Children and Adolescents
Discussion There is inadequate data about the full variety of benefit and tolerability of lithium treatment in pediatric patients. However, given the potential for protection against suicide and neurotoxic effects of illness, further studies should be a priority. Response to Lithium in Patients with Bipolar Disorder: What are Psychiatrists ’ Experiences and Practices Compared to Literature Review?
This study aims at characterizing French psychiatrists’ opinions regarding definition criteria and factors associated with lithium prophylactic response in patients with bipolar disorders. Methods After a literature review, an online survey targeted French psychiatrists in 2016. Results Literature review showed inconsistencies in reported definition criteria and clinical predictors of lithium prophylactic response. A total of 104 psychiatrists, mostly working in hospitals, completed the survey. The inconsistencies regarding definition criteria and predictors of lithium response were confirmed. Five factors were commonly ...

QTc Time Correlates with Amitriptyline and Venlafaxine Serum Levels in Elderly Psychiatric Inpatients
Discussion Amitriptyline and venlafaxine induce QT prolongation depending on drug concentrations in blood. Its extent, however, is very low when drug serum levels are within the therapeutic range. Future pharmacokinetic studies that correlate drug serum level and QT time should classify the cardiac risk of drugs based on the grade of the regression line in relation to the therapeutic range. Lithium and Renal Impairment: A Review on a Still Hot Topic
This study reviewed 6 large observational studies addressing the risk of impaired renal function associated with lithium treatment and methodological issues impacting interpretation of results. Results An increased risk of renal impairment associated with lithium treatment is suggested. This increased risk may, at least partly, be a result of surveillance bias. Additionally, the earliest studies pointed toward an increased risk of end-stage renal disease associated with lithium treatment, whereas the later and methodologically most sound studies do not. Discussion The improved renal outcome found in the more recent lithium...
