The Effect of Heparin Full-Dose Anticoagulation on Survival of Hospitalized, Non-critically Ill COVID-19 Patients: A Meta-analysis of High Quality Studies
ConclusionOur meta-analysis of high-quality multicenter RCTs suggests that full-dose anticoagulation with heparin or low molecular weight heparin reduces all-cause mortality in hospitalized non-critically ill COVID-19 patients.Study registration: PROSPERO, review no. Sesamin Induces the Transdifferentiation of Type II Alveolar Epithelial Cells via AnnexinA1 and TRPV1
ConclusionSesamin may promote transdifferentiation of ATII to ATI to ultimately rescue ALI, with TRPV1/AKT pathway involved in this transdifferentiation. This study revealed a novel role of sesamin in promoting the transdifferentiation of ATIIs to ATIs, providing experimental supports for the potential targets of ALI therapy.Graphical abstract (Source: Lung)

Healthcare-Seeking Behaviour Due to Cough in Finnish Elderly: Too Much and Too Little
ConclusionA minority of participants accounted for most of the cough-related doctor ’s visits during the past year, whereas most participants with chronic cough had never sought medical help for it. The heavy healthcare users were not those with the longest cough episodes. Repeated visitors due to cough were characterised by chronic phlegmy respiratory conditions, and quality-of- life impairment. (Source: Lung)

Solitary Lung Nodule: CT-Guided Transthoracic Biopsy vs Transbronchial Biopsy With Endobronchial Ultrasound and Flexible Bronchoscope, a Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials
ConclusionCT-TTB had a higher diagnostic yield than rEBUS-TBB in diagnosing peripheral lung nodules, particularly for lesions from 1 to 2  cm. However, rEBUS-TBB was significantly safer with five to eight times less risk of pneumothorax and composite complications of hospital admission, hemorrhage, and pneumothorax. The results of this study only apply to flexible bronchoscopy with radial ebus without navigational technologies. More data are needed for a comparison between CT-TTB with rEBUS-TBB combined with advanced navigational modalities. (Source: Lung)

PD-L1 Expression is not a Predictive Factor for Recurrence in Resected Non-small Cell Lung Cancer
ConclusionPD-L1 expression was not a risk factor of recurrence but tumor progression tended to increase PD-L1 expression.Trial RegistrationThe Institutional Review Board of Kanazawa Medical University approved the protocol of this retrospective study (approval number: I392), and written informed consent was obtained from all patients. A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Parallel-Group Phase 2b Trial of P2X3 Receptor Antagonist Sivopixant for Refractory or Unexplained Chronic Cough
ConclusionSivopixant did not demonstrate a statistically significant difference vs placebo in change from baseline in 24-h cough frequency. The dose of 300  mg has potential for RCC/UCC, showing the greatest improvements in cough frequency and patient-reported outcomes and dose-related mild to moderate reversible taste disturbance, although further trials are needed.Clinical Trial RegistrationClinicalTrials.gov identifier NCT04110054; registered September 26, 2019.
