A Singular Petechial Plantar Rash in a Patient With a Confirmed COVID-19
Several singular cutaneous manifestations have been recently reported in patients with confirmed or suspected coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Acral chilblain-like lesions, as well as purpuric macules, have already been characterized. We illustrate a case of a 100-year-old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 and presented an acral petechial rash some weeks after his respiratory infection. We suggest that it could represent a novel variant of cutaneous manifestations associated to this viral infection, possibly related to a delayed immunological reaction. Physicians' Counseling on Toxoplasma gondii Prepregnancy Screening Tests: A Simulation-Based Study
Conclusions Although it has been shown that physicians play an important role in raising awareness of toxoplasma-seronegative pregnant women about appropriate preventive measures, according to the results of our study, most T. gondii seronegative women who plan to become pregnant do not receive any consultation about the importance of following preventive measures, and in a minority of them, only avoidance of cat exposure is emphasized. Insufficient knowledge of providers was identified regarding immunopathogenesis of toxoplasmosis, preventive measures, interpretation of T. gondii serological test results, and optimal ap...

A Prospective Study Conducted Among Participants Reporting Acute Febrile Illness in a Cohort of Periurban and Rural Cambodians
The objective of this prospective cohort study was to assess the incidence of dengue, chikungunya, respiratory viruses, and diarrheal etiologies among periurban and rural Cambodians with confirmed acute febrile illness. During a 2-year period (2016–2017), 612 participants aged 6 months to 30 years who exhibited vector-borne febrile illness (median [interquartile range] age, 8.0 [4–11] years), in which 288 (48.0%) were female, were tested for acute dengue virus and chikungunya virus infection. A total of 67 (11.2%) clinical specimens were positive for dengue virus by either nucleic acid detection (n = 23 [34.3%]; dengue...
