Measurement of Uterine and Abdominal Muscle Electromyography in Pregnant Women for Estimation of Expulsive Activities during the 2nd Stage of Labor
Conclusions: (1) Uterine and abdominal EMG activities reflect the expulsive involuntary (uterine) and voluntary (abdominal) muscular activities during the 2nd stage of labor. (2) RMS and power of abdominal EMG diminish with longer labor when uterine EMG intensities are similar. (3) Recording of uterine and abdominal muscle activity provides objective evaluation of the muscle activity during the 2nd stage of labor and may aid in the evaluation of any interventions.Gynecol Obstet Invest (Source: Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation)

Maternal Anemia and Coagulation/Fibrinolysis after Fetoscopic Laser Photocoagulation for Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome
Conclusion: Changes in maternal anemia and coagulation/fibrinolysis after FLP for TTTS returned to normal spontaneously within 2 weeks. Maternal elevation of D-dimer level after FLP might be a warning indicator of VTE.Gynecol Obstet Invest (Source: Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation)

Familial Hydrocephalus and Dysgenesis of the Corpus Callosum Associated with Xp22.33 Duplication and Stenosis of the Aqueduct of Sylvius with X-Linked Recessive Inheritance Pattern
Discussion: This family demonstrates typical X-linked recessive heritability. X-inactivation is a compensatory mechanism that explains the mild symptoms of the female child and the severe symptoms of the male child. This familial case shows the importance of prenatal testing and genetic counseling and testing, including karyotype and chromosomal microarray.Gynecol Obstet Invest (Source: Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation)

Laparoscopic Myomectomy with Temporary Bilateral Uterine Artery and Utero-Ovarian Vessels Occlusion Compared with Traditional Surgery for Uterine Fibroids: Blood Loss and Recurrence
Conclusion: LM with temporary bilateral uterine artery and utero-ovarian vessels occlusion has the advantages of less intraoperative bleeding compared with LM and laparoscopic transient uterine artery ligation and does not increase the mean operative time.Gynecol Obstet Invest (Source: Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation)

Urodynamics as a Prognosticator of Mirabegron Treatment Outcomes
Conclusions: We found limited support for clinically relevant associations between findings at urodynamics and subsequent treatment outcomes for mirabegron in routine clinical practice. Our findings do not support the role of these investigations as predictors of outcomes in patients with overactive bladder symptoms.Gynecol Obstet Invest (Source: Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation)

Impact of Metastatic Lymph Node to Total Lymph Node Ratio on Survival of Endometrial Cancer Patients
Conclusion: This study found that TLN, LNR, age, stage, histopathology, ovarian involvement, and adjuvant treatment were prognostic factors for survival in advanced-stage EMC. Only the adjuvant treatment of radiation with or without chemotherapy was the only independent significant prognostic factor.Gynecol Obstet Invest (Source: Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation)

Lack of Survival Benefit of Para-Aortic Lymphadenectomy in Advanced Cervical Cancer
Conclusions: Despite the higher diagnostic accuracy of surgical staging and the higher number of patient who received extended field radiotherapy, we did not find differences between the overall and PFS rates in both the studied groups. Further prospective study on a higher number of patients would be necessary.Gynecol Obstet Invest (Source: Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation)

Live Births after in vitro Fertilization with Fertility-Sparing Surgery for Borderline Ovarian Tumors: A Case Series and Literature Review
This is a case series reporting live births following in vitro fertilization (IVF) after fertility-sparing surgery in patients with borderline ovarian tumors (BOTs). Seventeen patients, in whom fertility-sparing surgery for BOTs followed by IVF was performed from July 1, 2011 to September 30, 2017, in our IVF center, were included. Here we retrospectively present their BOT characteristics and clinical outcomes of assisted reproduction technology (ART) and then discuss the literature on management of patients with BOTs after fertility-sparing surgery. The study sample of 17 patients started IVF-assisted reproduction within ...

Interleukin-15 and Interleukin-7 are the Major Cytokines to Maintain Endometriosis
Conclusions: Our hypothesis is that deep endometriosis is a disease out of control. This disease ’s nature is of progression and invasion of adjacent structures, and proof of this disease state is the disorganized secretion of cytokine regulation and inflammation, which seem to be among the factors responsible for the maintenance of the disease.Gynecol Obstet Invest (Source: Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation)
