Diagnostic Relevance of Ferrokinetic Laboratory Markers in Anemic Pregnant Women
Conclusions: Determination of iron deficiency in pregnant women at different gestational periods will allow for identifying the risk group of anemic patients and deciding on the treatment. IDA (Hb #x3c;100 g/L) can be effectively measured by ferritin level #x3c;15 ng/mL, iron level of #x3c;11.5 μmol/L, and transferrin level #x3e;2.6 mg/L atp #x3c; 0.001. Anemia due to chronic diseases (Hb #x3c;100 g/L) can be effectively diagnosed with ferritin above 15 μg/L and CRP above 10 mg/L atp #x3c; 0.001.Gynecol Obstet Invest (Source: Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation)

Nuclear Atypia Is a Necessary Factor for Diagnosis of Primary Ovarian Fibrosarcoma: A Case Report and Literature Review
Conclusions: Herein we report a case of primary ovarian fibrosarcoma and reviewed all published cases in English. Following the latest trend of diagnosis, multiple prognostic factors were used to determine survival prognosis. These included nuclear atypia, FIGO stage, mitotic counts, treatment methods, and tumor size. Only nuclear atypia was found to be associated with patient prognosis (p #x3c; 0.05). FIGO stage (p = 0.383), mitotic count per 10 hpfs (p = 0.155), treatment methods (p = 0.185), and tumor size (p = 0.972) were not found to be associated with survival prognosis. Nuclear atypia was an important factor in prog...

Altered Expressions of AQP3 and ADP Are Closely Related with the Risk of Preeclampsia Occurrence
To investigate the expression of aquaporin 3 (AQP3) in placenta and fetal membranes and the level of adiponectin (ADP) in the umbilical cord blood of severe preeclampsia and to analyze the relationship between the 2 proteins and severe preeclampsia, 60 pregnant women with severe preeclampsia were recruited as the case group and another group of 60 normal pregnant women in the same gestation period were selected as the control. After parturition, the transcriptional levels of AQP3 mRNA in placenta and fetal membranes were evaluated with RT-PCR. The expressions of AQP3 protein in the placenta and fetal membranes were determi...

Uterine Isthmus Tourniquet during Abdominal Myomectomy: Support or Hazard? A Randomized Double-Blind Trial
Conclusion: The use of a tourniquet during abdominal myomectomy significantly reduced the mean volume of blood loss compared to the non-tourniquet group, while it did not prolong the duration of surgery, nor reduced the ovarian reserve. A tourniquet is a safe and efficient measure during abdominal myomectomy.Gynecol Obstet Invest (Source: Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation)

Percutaneous-Assisted versus Laparoscopic Hysterectomy: A Prospective Comparison
Conclusions: In this study, we reported that PSS-H is comparable to LPS-H for intra- and perioperative outcomes and postoperative pain, while PSS-H seems to be superior in cosmetic outcomes and patient satisfaction. PSS-H may represent a valid alternative in ultra-MIS for benign gynecological conditions and low-/intermediate-risk endometrial cancer.Gynecol Obstet Invest (Source: Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation)

COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) Infection in Pregnancy: A Systematic Review
Conclusion: COVID-19 infection in pregnancy leads to increased risk in pregnancy complications such as preterm birth, PPROM, and may possibly lead to maternal death in rare cases. There is no evidence to support vertical transmission of SARS-CoV-2 infection to the unborn child. Due to a paucity of inconsistent data regarding the impact of COVID-19 on the newborn, caution should be undertaken to further investigate and monitor possible infection in the neonates born to COVID-19-infected mothers.Gynecol Obstet Invest (Source: Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation)

LH Supplementation in Ovarian Stimulation for IVF: The Individual, LH Deficient, Patient Perspective
The availability of recombinant follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) opens an opportunity to individualize ovarian stimulation. While the need for FSH in ovarian stimulation is universal, a question remains whether exogenous LH is beneficial. Previous population-based research showed that added LH is indicated in elderly and in profoundly LH depressed patients. This commentary explores potential individual patient parameters that may hint that this specific individual may prospectively need supplemented LH, irrespective of her age or experience from previous cycles. Specifically, it is suggested ...

Stop GnRH-Agonist Combined with Multiple-Dose GnRH-Antagonist for Patients with Elevated Peak Serum Progesterone Levels Undergoing Ovarian Stimulation for IVF: A Proof of Concept
Conclusions: The combined Stop GnRH-ag/GnRH-ant OS protocol is a valuable tool in the armamentarium for treating patients with progesterone elevation during the late follicular phase. Further large prospective studies are needed to validate our observation and to characterize the appropriate patients ’ subgroup, which might benefit from the combined Stop GnRH-ag/GnRH-ant COH protocol.Gynecol Obstet Invest (Source: Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation)
