Laparoscopic management of rudimentary uterine horns in patients with unicornuate uterus: a systematic review
Conclusion: The laparoscopic removal o f a rudimentary uterine horn could be considered a feasible therapeutic option. An accurate preoperative evaluation is mandatory to assess anatomic variants and to select the optimal and tailored surgical approach, based also on the symptoms complained by the patient. Meta-Analysis of Human Leukocyte Antigen-G 3 ′UTR Polymorphisms Confer Susceptibility to Recurrent Miscarriage
Conclusions: Although the current systematic review and meta-analysis have shown that specific HLA-G 3 ′ UTR variants are associated with RM, a high degree of bias is present and further studies are needed to validate this causative effect.Gynecol Obstet Invest (Source: Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation)

Hysterectomy for Non-Prolapsed Uterus in Elderly Patients: Predictors of Prolonged Hospital Stay
Conclusions: The abdominal route of hysterectomy was found as the main driver of prolonged hospitalization, reinforcing the benefits of MIS for benign hysterectomy in elderly patients with non-prolapsed uteri; the higher chance of performing concomitant salpingo-oophorectomy supports the laparoscopic approach as the first option for these patients. Hysterectomy for non-prolapsed uterus in elderly patients: predictors of prolonged hospital stay
Objective: To investigate surgical outcomes and complications of hysterectomy for benign conditions other than prolapse in elderly patients and to define predictors of prolonged hospitalization. Design: Retrospective analysis of prospectively-collected data. Setting: Academic research center Patients: We utilized our institution surgical database to identify patients aged 60 years or more ( “elderly”) who underwent hysterectomy for benign conditions other than pelvic organ prolapse during a 20-year period (January 2000 - December 2019). Methods: Length of stay (LOS) of more than 2 days (90th percentile of LOS) was d...

Establishment of the Dutch nationwide, interdisciplinary infrastructure and biobank for fundamental and translational ovarian cancer research: Archipelago of Ovarian Cancer Research (AOCR)
Conclusions: With the establishment of the Dutch nationwide, interdisciplinary Archipelago of Ovarian Cancer Research infrastructure and biobank, fundamental and translational research on ovarian cancer can be greatly improved. The ultimate aim of this infrastructure is that it will lead to improved diagnostics, treatment and survival of patients with ovarian cancer. (Source: Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation)

Analysis of lymph node metastasis and risk factors in 975 patients with FIGO 2009 stage ⅠA-ⅡA cervical cancer
This study is a retrospective analysis of clinical data from 975 patients with stage IA–IIA cervical cancer treated in our hospital from January 2010 to December 2018, according to the Int ernational Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) 2009. Methods: The incidence and distribution of LNM were analyzed, and the influencing factors of cervical cancer LNM were analyzed using univariate and multivariate logistic regression. Results: In this study, the LNM rate was 14.8% (144/97 5), and a total of 20,288 lymph nodes were removed, among which 359 lymph nodes had metastasis. According to the number and frequency of m...

Laparoscopic Single-Port versus Mini-Laparoscopic Hysterectomy: An International Study
Conclusions: Significant shorter surgical time and shorter hospital stay were observed in patients undergoing Mini-LPS hysterectomy compared to LESS technique; however, intraoperative complications related to instrumentation flaws were higher in the mini-LPS group that required conversion to standard laparoscopy in all cases. Both ultra-minimally invasive techniques seem safe to perform hysterectomies for benign pathology and emphasize the importance in surgical training to adapt them to our current practice. Laparoscopic single-port versus minilaparoscopic histerectomy: an International Study.
Objectives: laparoendoscopic single-site surgery (LESS) and mini-laparoscopic surgery (Mini-LPS) have been carried out with comparable results to conventional laparoscopy. However, there is scarce data on comparison between them. Our main objective was to compare LESS and Mini-LPS in terms of surgical time, postoperative pain and hospital stay in patients undergoing simple hysterectomy for a benign condition. Design: this is a retrospective international multicentric study carried out in two Spanish and three Italian centers. Data from 161 patients operated for hysterectomy for a benign condition were collected between Ja...

Exploring a Better Adjuvant Treatment for Surgically Treated High-grade Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of the Cervix
Objectives: To explore a better adjuvant treatment for patients with high-grade (HG) neuroendocrine cervical carcinomas (NECC) who had undergone surgery as a primary treatment. Design: A retrospective cohort study, which involved 110 women diagnosed as HG-NECC, was conducted in OB GYN Hospital of Fudan University. All patients had undergone radical surgery and pelvic lymphadenectomy with a laparotomy or a minimally invasive surgery (MIS). An analysis was made of the prognosis of HG-NECC. Methods: Overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) curves were drawn using the Kaplan-Meier method to be compared via l...

Ornidazole reduces the progression of endometriosis in a rat model
Objective: To investigate the effectiveness of ornidazole in inhibiting the progression of endometriosis in a rat model. Design: This was an in vivo experiment, including the ornidazole group (n=16) and the control group (n=14). Rats were provided with free access to water containing ornidazole (1 g/L) or drinking water only for 14 days. Materials and Methods: Surgical induction of endometriosis was performed in Sprague Dawley rats via autologous endometrial transplantation. Rats were provided with free access to water containing ornidazole (1 g/L) or drinking water only for 14 days. Once the rats were euthanized (ornida...

Effect of human amniotic epithelial stem cell transplantation on preterm premature rupture of fetal membrane using the amniotic pore culture technique in vitro
The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of cell therapy using human amniotic epithelial stem cells (hAESCs) for the treatment of premature rupture of membranes (PROM) in vitro Design Using the amniotic pore culture technique (APCT), we mimicked the environment of PROM in vitro, thus enabling the observation of the healing process of hAESCs-treated amniotic membranes. Materials Amniotic membrane samples were collected from placentas of pregnant women who underwent elective cesarean sections. APCT model and isolated hAESCs were used in this study. All patients who participated in this study provided thei...
