Prediction of tumor lysis syndrome in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia based on machine learning models: a retrospective study
ConclusionWe developed the first TLS prediction model for pediatric ALL to assist clinicians in risk stratification at diagnosis and in developing personalized treatment protocols. This study is registered on the China Clinical Trials Registry platform (ChiCTR2200060616).Clinical trial registrationhttps://www.chictr.org.cn/, identifier ChiCTR2200060616. The prognostic value of absolute lymphocyte count and neutrophil ‐to‐lymphocyte ratio for patients with metastatic breast cancer: a systematic review and meta‐analysis
ConclusionLow ALC and elevated NLR were observed to be significantly associated with adverse OS and PFS in MBC, indicating that ALC and NLR may act as potential prognostic biomarkers of MBC patients. Meanwhile, our results will also provide some novel evidence and research clues for the selection and development of clinical treatment strategies for MBC patients.Systematic review registrationhttps://www.crd.york.ac.uk/PROSPERO/, identifier CRD42021224114. Sulforaphane inhibits the growth of prostate cancer by regulating the microRNA-3919/DJ-1 axis
ConclusionOverall, the miR-3919/DJ-1 axis may be involved in the effects of SFN on the malignant biological behavior of PCa cells, which might be a new therapeutic target in PCa. (Source: Frontiers in Oncology)

Cigarette smoking and mammographic breast density in post-menopausal women from the EPIC Florence cohort
DiscussionThis longitudinal study confirms the inverse association between active smoking, a known risk factor for BC, and MBD among post-menopausal women. The inclusion of smoking habits in the existing BC risk prediction models could be evaluated in future studies. (Source: Frontiers in Oncology)

Dark horse target Claudin18.2 opens new battlefield for pancreatic cancer
Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest malignant tumors, which is a serious threat to human health and life, and it is expected that pancreatic cancer may be the second leading cause of cancer death in developed countries by 2030. Claudin18.2 is a tight junction protein expressed in normal gastric mucosal tissues, which is involved in the formation of tight junctions between cells and affects the permeability of paracellular cells. Claudin18.2 is highly expressed in pancreatic cancer and is associated with the initiation, progression, metastasis and prognosis of cancer, so it is considered a potential therapeutic target...
