Bromination of Triacanthine
Bromination of the purine alkaloid triacanthine byN-bromosuccinimide in CHCl3, AcOH, and various alcohols was studied. The new derivatives 8-bromo-, 12,13-dibromo-, 8,12-dibromo-13-hydroxymethyl-, hydroxyethyl-, hydroxypropyl-, and hydroxybutyltriacanthine were prepared. Carboline Alkaloids from the Cigar Tobacco-Derived Fungi Aspergillus sp. and Their Anti-TMV Activity
Two newβ-carboline alkaloids, 1-acetyl-6-hydroxymethyl-7-methoxy-β-carboline (1) and 1-acetyl-6- hydroxymethyl-8-methoxy-β-carboline (2), together with four known ones (3 –6) were isolated from the cigar tobacco (a variety ofNicotiana tabacum L.)-derived endophytic fungiAspergillus sp. The flavonoids isoetin-2 ′-O-α-L-arabinopyranoside (1), isoetin-2 ′-O-β-D-galactopyranoside (2), isoetin-2 ′-O-(6′′-O-acetyl)-β-D-galactopyranoside (3), and luteolin-4 ′-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (4), which were identified using NMR spectroscopic methods, were isolated for the first time from the aerial part ofPicris koreana (Kitam.) Two New Phloroglucinol Derivatives from Syzygium fluviatile
Two new phloroglucinol derivatives were isolated from the leaves ofSyzygium fluviatile. The structures were elucidated as (Z,Z,Z)-1-(2,4-dihydroxy-6-methoxyphenyl)-octadeca-9,12,15-trien-1-one (1) and (Z,Z)-1-(5-methyl-2,4-dihydroxy-6-methoxyphenyl)-octadeca-9,12-dien-1-one (2) by means of extensive spectroscopic analyses including HR-ESI-MS and NMR spectra. Structure and Biological Activity of an Arabinogalactan from Ferula tenuisecta
The arabinogalactan AG-Ften of molecular mass 40 kDa consisting of galactose and arabinose in a 25:10.6 ratio was isolated from the aerial part ofFerula tenuisecta. AG-Ften was found to consist of D-galactopyranoses bound byβ-1,6-glycoside bonds as the main chain and a side chain ofα-arabinose,β-galactose, and 4-O-methylglucuronic acid by using methylation, GC, GC-MS, and13C NMR spectroscopy. A New Coumarin and Anti-Inflammatory Constituents from Polygonatum chingshuishanianum
A new coumarin, methyl (E)-4-((6-methoxy-2-oxo-2H-chromen-7-yl)oxy)-2-methylbut-2-enoate (1), has been isolated from the rhizomes ofPolygonatum chingshuishanianum, together with six known compounds – scopoletin (2), rutin (3), isoquercetin (4), hyperoside (5), (3R)-5,7-dihydroxy-3-(2 ′,4′-dihydroxybenzyl)-chroman-4-one (6), and (3R)-5,7-dihydroxy-6-methoxy-8-methyl-3-(2 ′,4′-dihydroxybenzyl)-chroman-4-one (7). Extraction and chromatographic separation of the extracts of dried leaves ofGlycosmis lucida lead to the isolation of a new acridone alkaloid lucidaine A (1), along with two known analogues2 and3.
