Brentuximab vedotin as a bridge to combination chemotherapy in gray zone lymphoma with severe liver impairment: a case report
ConclusionThis case demonstrates the successful use of BV as a bridge to cytotoxic chemotherapy in a GZL patient with severe liver impairment, highlighting its potential safety and efficacy even in the setting of end-organ failure. Further investigation is warranted to define optimal treatment strategies, identify predictive biomarkers, and improve outcomes for patients with this rare and challenging lymphoma subtype. High monocytic MDSC signature predicts multi-drug resistance and cancer relapse in non-Hodgkin lymphoma patients treated with R-CHOP
ConclusionOur data suggests that screening patients for high titre of M-MDSCs might be considered as a new potential biomarker and treatment modality in overcoming chemo-resistance in NHL patients. (Source: Frontiers in Immunology)

Cause-specific mortality in a population-level cohort of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma following chemotherapy in the early 21st century
AbstractDiffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is a severe non-Hodgkin ’s lymphoma. Life expectancy has improved with rituximab, but cause-specific mortality data is lacking. Using the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database to study 27,449 individuals aged 20–74 years diagnosed with primary DLBCL who received chemotherapy between 2000 and 2019, we calculated standardized mortality rate (SMR) and excess absolute risk (EAR) and examined the connection between age, sex, time after diagnosis, and cause of death. Based on 12,205 deaths, 68.7% were due to lymphoma, 20.1% non-cancer causes, and 11.2% other...

Anti-metabolic glutamate receptor 5 encephalitis with gangliocytoma: a case and review of the literature
There are very limited reports on anti-metabolic glutamate receptor5 (mGluR5) encephalitis, especially lacking of pediatric research. The disease was mostly accompanied by tumors, mainly Hodgkin's lymphoma. No... (Source: BMC Neurology)

Cancers, Vol. 16, Pages 337: Hematological Neoplasms with Eosinophilia
artín Eosinophils in peripheral blood account for 0.3–5% of leukocytes, which is equivalent to 0.05–0.5 × 109/L. A count above 0.5 × 109/L is considered to indicate eosinophilia, while a count equal to or above 1.5 × 109/L is defined as hypereosinophilia. In bone marrow aspirate, eosinophilia is considered when eosinophils make up more than 6% of the total nuclear cells. In daily clinical practice, the most common causes of reactive eosinophilia are non-hematologic, whether they are non-neoplastic (allergic diseases, drugs, infections, or immunologi...

Bispecific antibodies in indolent B-cell lymphomas
This article reviews contemporary data and ongoing studies evaluating the role of bispecific antibodies in indolent b-cell non Hodgkin lymphomas. This is an area of active research and presents many opportunities in advancing the treatment of indolent lymphomas and potentially forge a chemo-free treatment paradigm in this condition. Cancers, Vol. 16, Pages 321: Cell-Free DNA as a Biomarker at Diagnosis and Follow-Up in 256 B and T-Cell Lymphomas
Conclusions: cfDNA analysis can be easily performed in almost all lymphoma cases. The cfDNA concentration correlated with the characteristics of the aggressiveness of the lymphomas and, in LBCL, with the response achieved after therapy. These results support the utility of cfDNA analysis as a complementary tool in the management of lymphoma patients. (Source: Cancers)

Immunoglobulin High Throughput Sequencing (Ig-HTS) Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) Analysis is an Effective Surveillance Tool in Patients With Mantle Cell Lymphoma
CONCLUSIONS: Our data suggest that the clonoSEQ MRD assay is an effective surveillance tool for MCL patients following first-line therapy and is predictive of relapse prior to imaging.PMID:38195321 | DOI:10.1016/j.clml.2023.12.006 (Source: Clinical Lymphoma and Myeloma)

CONCLUSIONS: Based on our hypothesis, chemoradiotherapy-induced arteriopathies could be consider as a predisposing factor for spontaneous coronary artery dissection.PMID:38172682 | DOI:10.1186/s12872-023-03609-w (Source: Atherosclerosis)
