Minimalist approach to conditioning intensity for allogeneic transplantation of patients with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma: if less is more, than how low do we go?
High-dose chemotherapy with autologous stem cell rescue is no longer considered a rational treatment for primary refractory non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). Primary refractory NHL is presumed to be chemo-refractory and novel immunotherapy approaches are necessary to achieve durable remission. Given the relapse rate exceeds 50% in some patients receiving adoptive cellular therapies, allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HCT) is a rational therapy with curative intent [1]. Given the chemo-refractory nature of aggressive disease, myeloablative conditioning is neither effective nor safe; with transplant related m...

Chronic lymphocytic inflammation with pontine perivascular enhancement responsive to steroids triggered by Hodgkin's lymphoma: A case report and brief literature review
We presented a patient, diagnosed with lymphoma-associated CLIPPERS, 11  years after lymphoma treatment. Therefore, CLIPPERS may be paraneoplastic neurological syndrome of lymphoma, which needs to be considered in the follow-up of lymphoma cases.AbstractChronic lymphocytic inflammation with pontine perivascular enhancement responsive to steroids (CLIPPERS) is a rare central nervous system disorder with a recent increase in incidence. There are few reports of lymphoma-associated CLIPPERS, although the relationship between these two diseases and the pathophysiology of CLIPPERS in general need further investigation. Here, w...

An Unusual Presentation of Midline Lethal Granuloma
AbstractExtranodal natural killer T-cell lymphoma, nasal type (ENKTCL), is a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma that is strongly related to Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) infection and commonly presents as “midline lethal granuloma.” Herein, we report a middle-aged lady who presented with a two-week history of fever, sore throat and constitutional symptoms. Intraoral examination revealed a lacerated soft palate with an ulcerated uvula. A diagnosis of ENKTCL was confirmed through deep biopsies unde r general anaesthesia supplemented with a positive serum EBV genome. Unfortunately, she succumbed due to disease progression with ...

Is oligometastatic disease an applicable and useful concept in haematologic malignancies? A narrative review of radiation therapy standards, modern techniques, and innovations
CONCLUSIONS: Given the effectiveness of systemic treatments in hematologic malignancies, the oligometastasis stage is of little importance. A curative intent after local radiation therapy, even advanced stage, is possible, both with residual disease for advanced Hodgkin lymphoma, aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma, or solitary plasmocytoma, and even without evidence of disease after chemotherapy for Hodgkin or non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The role of new treatments, such as CAR T cells, allows us to consider radiation therapy after systemic treatment of relapsed diseases with low volume recurrence, which can be considered oligorecur...
