Remote supratentorial intraparenchymal bleed after posterior fossa surgery: A rare occurrence
CONCLUSION: We report this case due to the unique case observation of an intracranial bleed at a remote site rather than at the operated site.PMID:38628529 | PMC:PMC11021087 | DOI:10.25259/SNI_748_2023 (Source: Surgical Neurology International)

Rare vermian pilocytic astrocytoma with recurrent spontaneous hemorrhage in the elderly: A case report and review of literature
CONCLUSION: PA in the elderly is a rare disease with distinct histologic and genetic peculiarities. This case review showed one of the oldest cases of cerebellar vermian PA presenting with recurrent spontaneous intratumoral hemorrhage, an extremely rare occurrence in benign glioma. Although complete surgical excision is recommended, partial resection is advocated for morbidly adherent tumors. Overall prognosis is worse in elderly PA.PMID:38628526 | PMC:PMC11021065 | DOI:10.25259/SNI_978_2023 (Source: Surgical Neurology International)

Secondary normal pressure hydrocephalus following pituitary apoplexy: A case report
CONCLUSION: This case suggests that sNPH can develop even after a small subarachnoid hemorrhage caused by a pituitary apoplexy in LOVA patients. If the aqueduct of Sylvius is open, sNPH with a LOVA background can be successfully treated with LPS placement.PMID:38628523 | PMC:PMC11021090 | DOI:10.25259/SNI_32_2024 (Source: Surgical Neurology International)

Long-term outcomes of endovascular therapy for right subclavian artery occlusive lesions: A multi-center experience
CONCLUSIONS: Endovascular treatment of right subclavian artery lesions is safe, effective, and technically achievable. The reasonable use of balloon-expandable stents can achieve satisfactory outcomes with accurate orientation and promising patency.PMID:38631687 | DOI:10.1177/17085381241247613 (Source: Atherosclerosis)

Predictors of acute post-thrombectomy intracranial hemorrhage expansion in anterior circulation infarcts
CONCLUSION: Expansion of post-MT ICH on 24-h interval MRI relative to immediate post-thrombectomy DEHCT is significantly associated with baseline anticoagulant usage and petechial hemorrhage inside the infarct margins or presence of intraparenchymal hematoma (ECASS-II HI2/PH1/PH2).PMID:38629465 | DOI:10.1177/15910199241247884 (Source: Interventional Neuroradiology)

Dynamic cerebral autoregulation is governed by two time constants: Arterial transit time and feedback time constant
In this study, the processes that govern dCA are examined and it is proposed that the application of biophysical models remains limited due to a lack of understanding about the physical processes that are being modelled, partly due to the specific model formulation that has been most widely used (the equivalent electrical circuit). Based on the analysis presented here, it is proposed that the two most important time constants are arterial transit time and feedback time constant. It is therefore time to revisit equivalent electrical circuit models of dCA and to develop a more physiologically realistic alternative, one that ...

Transmastoid pediatric penetrating brain injury, interdisciplinary, and tailored patient's treatment
CONCLUSION: Radiological tools, notably skull X-rays and head CT scans, are pivotal for the precise diagnosis of pediatric PBI. The combined mastoidectomy and retro sigmoid craniotomy approach offers a safe and efficient means of foreign body removal. Tailoring treatments to individual patient needs enhances outcomes.PMID:38628538 | PMC:PMC11021077 | DOI:10.25259/SNI_18_2024 (Source: Surgical Neurology International)
