BCAS2 regulates granulosa cell survival by participating in mRNA alternative splicing
CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that BCAS2 may influence the proliferation and survival of granulosa cells through regulating pre-mRNA splicing of E2f3 and Flt3l by forming the splicing complex with CDC5L and PRP19.PMID:37248466 | DOI:10.1186/s13048-023-01187-1 (Source: Cell Research)

Clinical characteristics and oncological outcomes of recurrent adult granulosa cell tumor of ovary: A retrospective study of seventy patients
ConclusionsThe recurrence pattern in patients with recurrent adult granulosa cell tumor was characterized as late and repeated, multifocal, and distant relapse. It has been demonstrated that PFS1  ≤ 60 months and distant lesion at recurrence are independent risk factors for PFS-R, and PFS-R ≤ 33 months is an independent risk factor for OS-R. The PWP-CP model showed that the transabdominal approach and surgery reaching R0 could significantly decrease the recurrence frequency. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Impact of surgery and chemotherapy in ovarian sex cord-stromal tumors from the multicentric Salom é study including 469 patients. A TMRG and GINECO group study
CONCLUSION: Chemotherapy use did not impact survival in the first-line or relapse setting in SCST. Only surgery and its quality demonstrated benefit for PFS in ovarian SCST in any lines of treatment.PMID:37210929 | DOI:10.1016/j.ygyno.2023.05.014 (Source: Gynecologic Oncology)

miR-4433a-3p promotes granulosa cell apoptosis by targeting peroxisome proliferator –activated receptor alpha and inducing immune cell infiltration in polycystic ovarian syndrome
ConclusionThe miR-4433a-3p/PPAR- α/immune cell infiltration axis may function as a novel cascade to alter GC apoptosis in PCOS. (Source: Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics)

Sex Cord-Stromal Tumors of the Ovary
Radiol Clin North Am. 2023 Jul;61(4):595-608. doi: 10.1016/j.rcl.2023.02.005. Epub 2023 Mar 31.ABSTRACTOvarian sex cord-stromal tumors (OSCSTs) are a rare group of ovarian neoplasms that can be benign or malignant. They are classified into pure sex cord tumors, pure stromal tumors, and mixed SCST. The most common malignant OSCSTs are adult granulosa cell tumors. In contrast to the more common ovarian epithelial malignancies, OSCSTs present in younger patients, often at early stages, with better prognoses. Imaging features are variable, and pathology is required for diagnosis. However, certain tumors demonstrate characteris...
