Bacteria in the blood of healthy stray dogs infested by ticks in northern Mexico
CONCLUSION: This research offers relevant information on the prevalence of tick-borne diseases as well as other potential zoonotic diseases in the blood of stray dogs parasitized by ticks in northern Mexico. New molecular biology and massive NGS techniques may play an important role in the study and documentation of bacterial profiles from animals in close proximity to humans.PMID:38680790 | PMC:PMC11055595 | DOI:10.5455/javar.2024.k757 (Source: Adv Data)

< em > Fusobacterium nucleatum < /em > -induced imbalance in microbiome-derived butyric acid levels promotes the occurrence and development of colorectal cancer
CONCLUSION: F. nucleatum can promote cancer progression through its inhibitory effect on butyric acid, via the AMPK signaling pathway.PMID:38681125 | PMC:PMC11045493 | DOI:10.3748/wjg.v30.i14.2018 (Source: World Journal of Gastroenterology : WJG)

A comparative assessment of microbiocenosis of saliva and oropharynx in patients with migraine
CONCLUSION: A comparative assessment of the microbiota of a smear from the posterior wall of the oropharynx and saliva using MMSM showed the presence of dysbiosis both in the oropharynx and in the saliva of patients with migraine. However, there were fewer deviations from the norm in saliva, therefore, for diagnostic purposes, a smear from the posterior wall of the oropharynx is more significant as a biomarker for patients with migraine.PMID:38676678 | DOI:10.17116/jnevro202412404155 (Source: Herpes)

Microbiota Transplantation as an Adjunct to Standard Periodontal Treatment in Periodontal Disease: A Systematic Review
Medicina (Kaunas). 2024 Apr 21;60(4):672. doi: 10.3390/medicina60040672.ABSTRACTPeriodontitis is a disease linked to severe dysbiosis of the subgingival microbiome. The treatment of periodontitis aims to change the dysbiosis environment to a symbiosis environment. We hypothesized that oral microbiota transplantation can lead to a significant improvement in periodontitis. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of microbiota transplantation after standard periodontal treatment in periodontitis patients. The search strategy was carried out by using the Boolean term "AND" to combine the keywords, w...
