Sialolipoma of Parotid Gland: A Case Report
We report a case of 51  years old female who presented with the complaint of swelling in the right parotid region for 12 years duration. Ultrasonography suggested adenoma and FNAC suggested a cystic lesion. Histopathological examination after superficial parotidectomy reported sialolipoma. The aim of this article is to report a case of sialolipoma, discuss the features and contribute to differential diagnosis. There are very few reported cases of sialolipoma in the existing English literature. (Source: Indian Journal of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery)

Clinicopathologic Features and Cytologic Correlation of ALK-Rearranged Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma: A Series of Eight Cases
In conclusion, althoughALK-rearranged PTCs have been associated with neutral gene expression profile from aBRAF-RAS scoring perspective, the “RAS-like ” nuclear features were more commonly identified in this series, resulting in frequent indeterminate diagnosis of preoperative FNA. Hidradenoma of Pinna -Report of a Rare Case at a Rare Site
AbstractThere are various reports of hidradenoma of cartilaginous part of external auricular canal (ear), but the documented evidence of occurrence of hidradenoma of pinna is seldom available in world literature, hence we report one such case. The patient was a 45-year female with a lump in the region of the posterior aspect of the pinna of the right ear for the past 6 months. No history of pain except for serous discharge from the lump. FNAC of the lump showed histological feature of hidradenoma. Wide surgical excision of the lump was done under local anaesthesia and sent for histopathological examination. HPE confirmed t...

Cancerization of Ameloblastoma in Free Fibula Neomandible
ConclusionSome degree of suspicion for ameloblastic carcinoma should be maintained, in fast-growing recurrent ameloblastoma. Wide local excision remains the treatment of choice with adjuvant radiotherapy being an option in selected cases. (Source: Journal of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery)

Recurrence of sarcoidosis accompanied by lung cancer after drug ‐induced pulmonary sarcoidosis with lung injury
We present the case of sarcoidosis recurrence associated with lung cancer after drug-induced pulmonary sarcoidosis with lung injury. To our knowledge, this is the first report of sarcoidosis triggered by drug administration and lung cancer. Histological diagnosis of mediastinal lymphadenopathy with lung cancer is essential for differentiating metastasis from sarcoidosis. AbstractSarcoidosis is a multisystemic granulomatous disease that is frequently localized in the lungs and lymph nodes. We herein report a case of pulmonary sarcoidosis secondary to shin'iseihaito administration. During remission with 5  mg prednisolone/...

The application of artificial intelligence to thyroid nodule assessment
Artificial intelligence (AI) is of considerable interest in the healthcare community including its diagnostic applications for thyroid nodules in assisting both radiology and FNA assessment. Fine-needle aspiration (FNA) helps distinguishing benign from malignant thyroid nodules and is a crucial step in the initial diagnosis of cancer. The classification of some lesions can be challenging, and the use of AI in some cases may become essential in order not to give an indeterminate result to the lesion. A case report of uncommon giant epidermal inclusion cyst found in the thyroid gland
CONCLUSION: it is important to consider the possibility of EIC when benign squamous cells are detected in a thyroid aspirate without any follicular cells. In such cases, hemithyroidectomy can be a successful management strategy.PMID:38576964 | PMC:PMC10990355 | DOI:10.1097/MS9.0000000000001825 (Source: Annals of Medicine)
