Erectile function preservation after radiotherapy using a dose-optimization approach on sexual structures for localized prostate cancer
CONCLUSION: This approach with dose-optimization on sexual structures for localized prostate cancer found excellent results on erectile function preservation after radiotherapy, with 78% of the patients with no or mild erectile dysfunction at 2 years.PMID:38599939 | DOI:10.1016/j.canrad.2023.08.010 (Source: Cancer Radiotherapie)

Understanding exosomes: Part 2-Emerging leaders in regenerative medicine
Periodontol 2000. 2024 Apr 9. doi: 10.1111/prd.12561. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTExosomes are the smallest subset of extracellular signaling vesicles secreted by most cells with the ability to communicate with other tissues and cell types over long distances. Their use in regenerative medicine has gained tremendous momentum recently due to their ability to be utilized as therapeutic options for a wide array of diseases/conditions. Over 5000 publications are currently being published yearly on this topic, and this number is only expected to dramatically increase as novel therapeutic strategies continue to be developed. T...

PDE5is ‐naïve versus non‐naïve patients at first investigation for erectile dysfunction—findings from a long‐term, real‐life cross‐sectional study
ConclusionsSelf-prescription of PDE5is is an attitude presents in the general population, despite this phenomenon has decreased overtime. Current data outline the importance to keep promoting educational campaigns to promote PDE5is as effective and safe medicinal products, while avoiding their improper use. (Source: Andrology)

A multi-institutional update on surgical outcomes after penile silicone sleeve implantation
CONCLUSION: This is the largest study to characterize the safety of the penile silicone sleeve implant across multiple institutions. In men who desire cosmetic size augmentation, silicone sleeve implant surgery is associated with significantly increased flaccid penile length and girth. Complications are mainly cosmetic and may be corrected; however, patients should be appropriately counseled on the risk of erosion, which appears to be higher than previously reported.PMID:38571490 | PMC:PMC10989031 | DOI:10.1177/17562872241241858 (Source: Adv Data)

Novel erectile analyses revealed augmentable penile Lyve-1, the lymphatic marker, expression
CONCLUSIONS: The current in vivo system will potentially contribute to the assessment of penile pathology from a novel viewpoint. In addition, current analyses revealed inducible Lyve-1 expression for LPS injection and the erection state, which requires further analyses on penile lymphatic system.PMID:38566911 | PMC:PMC10985380 | DOI:10.1002/rmb2.12570 (Source: Reproductive Biology)

Evaluation of the effect of prostate diameters on erectile dysfunction in patients who underwent low-anterior resection
CONCLUSIONS: The risk of nerve injury will be higher in those with a small prostate transverse diameter. Intraoperative nerve monitoring should be recommended primarily in younger patient groups.PMID:38567582 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202403_35723 (Source: Pharmacological Reviews)
