Grafts in Peyronie's surgery without the use of prostheses: a systematic review and meta-analysis
The objective of this review was to evaluate the available literature and identify the most effective graft material for penile curvature correction in PD. A literature search was conducted using electronic databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and the Cochrane Library. The patients, intervention, comparison, and outcome (PICO) approach was used to define the eligibility of studies. Two authors independently selected studies, evaluated them, and extracted data. Random-effect models using the DerSimonian-Laird method were used. Most studies were single-arm studies and had a high risk of bias. Buccal mucosa grafts (BMG) were ...

Prevalence of new onset erectile dysfunction among Damietta governorate men after contracting COVID-19
ConclusionAn association of new-onset ED in men who suffered COVID-19 infection was established. This may be due to virus-induced endothelial cell dysfunction; however, an underlying mechanism and causation have not yet been clearly elucidated. While it appears that COVID-19 infection may be a risk factor for ED, additional research is needed to establish causality. (Source: Irish Journal of Medical Science)

Magnetic resonance imaging-ultrasound fusion guided focal cryoablation for men with intermediate-risk prostate cancer
CONCLUSION: MRI-US-guided cryoablation to target lesions in intermediate-risk CaP appears to be a safe treatment option, with functional outcomes indicating minimal short and intermediate-term morbidity and acceptable oncological outcomes. However, despite close monitoring and follow-up, there is still a limitation in accurately predicting/detecting pathological failure after FT. The long-term durability of FT for intermediate-risk, organ-confined CaP remains uncertain.PMID:38245407 | DOI:10.1016/j.urolonc.2024.01.003 (Source: Urologic Oncology)

Predictors of elaborated perineal or a combined abdominoperineal approach during repair for pelvic fracture urethral injury
ConclusionsThe need of step 3 or higher during urethroplasty for PFUI can be predicted pre-operatively with conventional imaging (RGU/VCUG). Patients with proximal urethral stump above the lower margin of pubic symphysis were about 66 times more likely to need step 3 or higher during urethroplasty. (Source: World Journal of Urology)
