Ache msb 2023-2024
I’m not sure if there is a thread yet for the masters in biomedicine program at the Arkansas college of health education, but I wanted to start one so that prospective and admitted students can discuss. I was recently accepted and will be attending, so I am happy to answer any questions about the program and why I chose it. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Pitt vs Case Western
Hey everyone! I would really appreciate some guidance/advice on picking between these two schools. I’m fortunate to have multiple acceptances, and now comes the tough decision of narrowing down! If anyone has any insight on either CWRU or Pitt Med, that would be amazing. Right now, I’m interested in EM/Surgery for residencies, but that may change. Here are the few pros/cons I’ve come up with so far: Case Western Pros New Health Education Campus Built-in research time... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Teaching High School as a Extracurricular?
Hey so it appears that I am probably not going to get into medical school this cycle unless some WL magic happens. My old high school chemistry teacher came up to me yesterday at the gym and offered me to be a high school biology teacher next year as they are short on staff. I am considering doing so as I could make decent money to prepare for medical school, but it would take up most of my time. My application is pretty education based, in fact I had tutoring both privately and for a... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Applying for medical license for moonlighting
Hello all, I am a 2nd year resident applying for full independent licensure to moonlight next year. It is required that I complete 2 years of post-grad training for licensure in my state, so I am wondering how early does everyone apply (as I know it takes time for apps to process)? One question on the app states "did you have any interruption(s) or extension(s) in your medical education?" and I took a LOA due to struggles adapting/mental health during my 1st year in med school but... Supplements in Psychiatry
How often are you all using supplements in your psychiatric practice? I see many integrative practices in my area that are really thriving and I feel like I haven't gotten much of this education in my training. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

nova md vs. wayne vs. fau vs. temple
I am waitlisted at all of these schools. little bit about me: I was born in a suburb in NJ, moved to a suburb in CA at the age of 7 and have lived here ever since. I’m keeping an open mind specialty-wise since I don’t really know what I want to do (just that i’m not interested in primary care, although that may also change), so I’d like a school that would best prepare me for anything. I’m also very interested in research and health and med education. I went to a giant high school and an... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Ontario Med Schools - Where to Focus for Upcoming Applications?
Hi everybody, I'm a non-traditional applicant in Ontario, Canada. I've just determined that I want to make the jump and apply for med school. I have a science undergrad and a Bachelors of Education, and I've worked as a teacher and a tutor for the past two years in Ontario. I'm looking for advice about where to spend my limited time leading up to this year's applications. From my understanding, there's about 5 months until applications. I have a pretty strong GPA; my undergrad was 3.94 and... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Rutgers (IS) vs. University of Maryland SoD (OOS)
Rutgers (in-state) vs. University of Maryland School of Dentistry (out of state D1, in-state D2-4) Rutgers (IS) Total COA: $403,200 Pros: In-state all 4 years Very close to home (which is important to me because I know I'll be able to turn to my family in tough times) Strong clinical education Plenty of research opportunities Every specialty program in-house (I am keeping the door as wide open as possible for specialty) Relatively low cost of living already...
