Do I have a chance to MD/PhD?
I’m an international student. I’ve applied to medical schools 1-2 years ago but withdrew my applications because I had no way of funding the education and I’m not eligible for big loans because of my status. I graduated from a UC in 2020 with 3.54 with a double major in neuroscience and anthropology. I have 3 years of work experience (1.5 years as a medical assistant and 1.5 as a clinical research assistant). I also have 3 years of bench research in undergrad that resulted in 2 journal... OMFS Fellowship Match statistics?
I understand this question is geared toward a small audience and may not get an answer here. Any info on how match percentages for OMFS H&N fellowships? Can’t find any hard data on the AACMFS page. Also, any advice on matching into one? At a program with minimal research activity, educational guidance or extracurricular community involvement available to participate in. Aka, pretty difficult to beef up a resume. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

We must do better
Podiatry compensation is laughable. We go through 4 years of post graduate education to then do 3 years of residency… FOR WHAT? To make the same or less then a PA with only 2 years of post graduate education. This is not to overlook the value of PA/NP. It’s a needed and great profession. However until we start to stand up for ourselves and get some lobbyist (like the nursing community has) our value will never go up. Okay we are replaceable? Let ID handle the Diabetic foot ulcer, let... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

UMass Vs Cincinnati vs MCG
Hello! As the cycle is coming to an end this year I've narrowed my choices down to three schools and would love to hear some opinions about which may be the best choice. I am a lifelong Georgia resident with my parents living in the Atlanta area. I'm currently unsure of my specialty interests but I have ruled out FM/EM/Peds. As a student, I hope to have research as a big part of my medical education and am looking to go to a school that will give me the highest odds of matching into a... WAMC Canadian Applicant/Dentist for DO programs
Hey everyone! I'm looking to apply to DO programs this year. I was accepted to an Australian MD program last year, but didn't accept as I would like to stay closer to Canada. Aus MD is still my backup though. Looking for suggestions on how to improve my app (I'm working 50hours/week so time is certainly a constraint) and which schools I should focus on as a Canadian. 27M non-trad Education: BSc: cGPA of 3.98/4.00 Dental school (DMD): cGPA 3.78/4.00 Master of Education: Completed... MSW: Is school worth investing in?
Hey everyone! I'm applying to MSW/MFT/Counseling programs now. I could go to a program that takes itself seriously and expects you to work hard. I'd spend 50K and work a lot harder. Or I could go to a school that charges 18K - also CSWE accredited - not work as hard - and get the same paper at the end. I would be willing to pay more for a better education. But LCSWs/LMFTs keep telling me that I will learn NOTHING in school. If that's the case I certainly wouldn't want to pay more for an... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
