Full License in Texas
I did medical school in a European medical school that is on the equivalency list of the TMB. Currently a senior in a US residency program. I am asked to submit Form J that is the Clinical Clerkship Affidavit & Checklist. I did not do any clerkships in the US. Does that mean I am not eligible for the full license? My understanding was that my medical education is deemed to be equivalent, so why the need for clerkships in the US? Also, I heard that this Form is only required for people who... AEGD and GPR Openings
I know that many residency directors are on this message board and I think that is great. If there happen to be any openings that arise in any AEGD or GPR programs, then please contact me. I can be a great resident and I hope to get a great education. I am early in the annual cycle with this type of message, so I will keeping "bumping" up this message in February and March of 2024. I think this is usually the time for post-match. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Networking Question
Hi all. I am URM (AA female, low income, immigrant, fgen, pell grant recipient) and will be applying during the 2024-2025 cycle. I see a lot of comments on here about needing to network with different communities at med schools before applying and I was wondering how do I find these communities/do you have any recommendations? I am a CA resident. I’m the first in my family to pursue higher education so any advice would be really helpful. Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Law courses / education for dentistry
Hi everyone, I'm a current dental student and was advised by a dentist to look into taking some law courses before entering private practice. I've done some research online and have mostly found masters programs for healthcare practitioners. Does anyone know of any cheaper options, maybe even good CE courses I can take? I've been out of luck finding any free / cheap options on websites, such as LinkedIn / Coursera. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

From art to medicine
Hey SDN! New member here, and thank you in advance for taking the time to read my post. I attended art school for my undergrad education and graduated in 2020. I started work as an illustrator straight out of college, and have been working ever since. Lately, I have been heavily considering switching careers to medicine, but seeing as I took art classes exclusively and graduated with a BFA & a 3.8 GPA, I wanted to ask what the best course/s of action would be to facilitate a switch. My... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Grand Canyon University Fined Over Doctoral Program Costs
While they don't currently have a license-eligible doctoral program in psychology, I thought this was a worthwhile link to post: LINK The U.S. Education Department is fining Grand Canyon University $37.7 million, saying the for-profit Christian school misrepresented the costs of its doctoral programs. The agency says Grand Canyon University told students that enrolling in the doctoral program would cost $40,000 to $49,000. That was supposed to cover tuition and 60 credit hours...
