getting into Pharmacy school /becoming a pharmacist with a sex offender registration in California
I would appreciate some objective advice without judgment. first a bit of background. As some may know I was in the education feild and was in it for nearly twenty years, and I was doing my pre-meds at the time as well. In early January 2020 I went to my primary care physician due to stomach pains and was found to have several ulcers, it was determined that due to stress and poor diet I needed a lifestyle change... Sending ADAT Score to ADEAPASS
Hello, Does anyone have experience sending their ADAT score to ADEA PASS? When you log into ADA to send a score to ADEA PASS it is not one of the options listed under dental schools or advanced education programs. I read somewhere that if you did not indicate which school you want to send the scores to, then you will have to pay $50 per school but if you designated to at least one school that participates in PASS then you do not need to pay extra. This just seems extremely predatory... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

TMDSAS optional essay topic?
The prompt is: Briefly discuss any unique circumstances or life experiences that are relevant to your application which have not previously been presented. Can I use the TMDSAS optional essay to talk about having an uncommon educational path (i.e., prior professional degree) and how I hope to use the skills I developed and/or how it's affected my perspective on medicine? I mention it briefly in my personal statement (a single brief paragraph), but I don't know if that counts as having... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

UCLA DGSOM vs. University of Washington SOM Seattle cohort
Hello fellow sdn-ers, I got off the waitlist for both UCLA DGSOM and the University of Washington SOM Seattle cohort last week. I have only until May 9 to decide. I have been contemplating my decision, but I really hope that I can hear some of your input! My background: -I am a second-time reapplicant. I am so so grateful for the option to choose between these two schools, but it has been hard. -I came to the US alone for higher education. Went to school in both LA and Seattle. Took my... My Journey - Seeking Residency Approval to use GI Bill Benefits at Facilities that are NOT APPROVED
As some may know, I had the privilege of using my Chapter 31 VR&E Benefits for my pharmacy education and documented my progress from 2018 to 2022 (link can be found here). Thanks to this benefit (and a change in law from Congress), my post 9/11 GI Bill benefits have not been touched with a 100% eligibility for future use. I have received recent messages concerning the utilization of GI Bill benefits for on the job training (residency +/- fellowships) at facilities that have not... Resident evals
I have to do some of these evals for residents as part of my current job. I try to be kind, and supportive, non-threatening, educational and informative to residents. I feel though as I did a lot more when I was a resident and, that attending where very harsh with me when I made any type of mistake. I try to be understanding with residents and get that they are learning. When it comes to evals, I think some residents are better than others. I want to be fair, but at the same time honest... What are my chances for MD/DO schools
I am a first-generation college student who is 27 years old and wants to be a doctor. I am in my last year of college and want to apply to MD and DO school. I only have my wife and two boys supporting me. My parents are anti-medicine and don't support my career choice. Growing up, I didn't have a stable childhood. I moved a lot and was homeless a few times, so it impacted my education a lot; I was not good at school and missed classes. I graduated high school with a 2.4 GPA. In 2019 after... Mid-life career change: Psy.D. or LMHC?
Hi everyone! I am hoping to transition into a career in psychology from my current job in humanities academia, and I have some questions about the feasibility of this and how to pursue it in a strategic way. Here's some brief context on my background: I got a fully-funded Ph.D. in literature from a top university 7 years ago and have worked at some prestigious (Ivy League and Big 10) universities, but always in non-tenure-track roles. I've also worked in special education and... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
