Child psychiatry fellowship: what mattered most to you?
Hi everyone. As I’m starting to make my rank list for child psychiatry fellowship, I’m struck by the variety of approaches to CAP fellowship curricula. I’m fortunate to be interviewing at several wonderful programs this cycle, and I don’t doubt I’d be well-trained leaving any of them. That said, I’m hoping to leave training as a well-rounded clinical C+A psychiatrist. I’m wondering what you found particularly useful or important in your education as a child psychiatrist. For instance, was... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Lab Meeting Ideas
Starting to think through a plan for restructuring how I run my lab meetings. We're in an AMC and a small-ish lab (5-10 people), but with pretty diverse educational backgrounds. Most are BA/MA-level staff, but I also have post-docs and the occasional undergrad, grad student or med student in attendance. Interested to hear from anyone who wants to respond (students, faculty, folks who haven't attended a lab meeting since grad school a decade ago) about how other lab meetings are structured... Update Letter vs. In Portal Update
If schools have a space for updates on their portals pre-II, are the update rules here different than those for sending an update letter to the admissions office? I have a new job and have read here to wait to send an update letter till you have a substantial number of hours and something to say about what you're learning. I started a new job as a case manager at a cancer support organization last week. We provide educational information, resources, and support to patients with a very... Mention 4-week voluntary LOA for Level 1 in "Was your medical education/training extended or interrupted" on ERAS?
My school for some reason made people take a whole LOA if you wanted 4 more weeks for boards even though we had 8 weeks of vacation and it ended up using 4 (graduating on time). They even put in a whole new elective "study rotation" the class of 2025 to not put a chunk of class in LOA but at the time I took it it was a LOA. It was marked as a voluntary LOA on MSPE. In terms of potential PD doubts about academic ability, my Level 2 score was decent, and I took step 1 & 2 as well, did alright... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Jpme1
Greetings, I tried searching for posts about Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) phase 1, but they were quite old. I was wondering if anyone knew if JPME1 completion or non-completion had any impact on O6 promotion, particularly in the USN (MC promotion board). Thank you! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Applying to PsyD programs
Hello, I am currently in my last semester of my bachelors degree in applied psychology. I have started to apply to PsyD programs throughout the state of Pennsylvania and others states. Does anyone have any advice they could provide when applying to programs and what their process was like? A little bit about myself and education. I have worked 4 and a half years helping support individuals with disabilities and mental health conditions in a group home setting. I also have worked for a year...
