For each of the applicable options below, indicate the average percentage contribution towards your post-secondary education." My tuition was funded primarily through grants and scholarships, with the remaining amount covered through my work-study job. Since work-study is part of my financial aid package, does it fall under "Financial Need-Based Scholarship" or "Applicant... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Low course load / exploring other interests
Hey, So Im currently in my spring of sophomore year at my college majoring in biology. I have maintained a 4.0 so far in all my classes and during this semester I was unsure if I even wanted to continue being pre med and I wanted to make an education and informed decision before dedicating the next decade of my life to medicine. So I took a break from the science classes and only took 2 computer science classes instead to see how I like it and to make a decision if pre med is actually for... How psych applicants evaluate residency programs
Greetings from my second post in a single night! I was looking over the criteria that psych applicants used to choose which programs to apply to: And I'm wondering how applicants evaluated a couple of different qualities: "Quality of educational training and curriculum" Beyond a prestigious name, how can you evaluate this? What relevant information should I look for on their website, and what questions should I ask residents? "Appropriate balance between... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

YALE vs BROWN Please help
YALE vs BROWN Please educate me on the strengths and weaknesses of the program from your perspective. Some considerations: 1. Yale $15K more per year, but that is not the biggest concern in the bigger scheme of things 2. Both are about a 6-hour drive from home. 3. Undecided about the specialty I would like to pursue however residency match and reputation among residency directors is an important consideration 4. Yale offers a lot of flexibility and limited testing (take-home tests, no... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Struggling with finding shadowing
I’ve been looking for shadowing opportunities for the past year and have had no luck. I’ve cold called/emailed/gone to offices with a cover letter and resume, asked my PCP, and contacted Graduate Medical Education offices as well. I’ve gotten an opportunity to help a physician with physicals with other pre-health and health students. Would this count as shadowing even though I would be functioning mostly as an MA? I’m feeling really discouraged and honestly about to quit premed. I don’t... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
