Comparison of the Diagnostic Performance of Antigen B Purified from Sheep Hydatid Cyst Fluid (HCF) with Commercial ELISA Kit
CONCLUSION: Antigen B produced from hydatid cyst fluid is a promising option for serological identification of hydatid cysts in both infected and healthy individuals. In an indirect ELISA test, hydatid fluid antigen could be used as a precise source of detection.PMID:38415436 | DOI:10.2174/0118715265281114240131045945 (Source: Infectious Disorders Drug Targets)

GSE256258 Altered miRNA Expression in MSC-Derived Extracellular Vesicles Following Hydatid Antigen Stimulation
This study investigates the impact of hydatid antigens on the miRNA expression profiles within extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). By stimulating MSCs with echinococcus granulosus protoscoleces (ESPs), hydatid cyst fluid (HCF), and particles from the laminated layer (pLL), we aim to uncover the changes in miRNA expression and their potential roles in modulating immune responses and osteogenic differentiation. Through high-throughput sequencing, differential expression analysis, and subsequent bioinformatics analyses, we identify key miRNAs and their target genes involved in these proces...

GSE256257 Impact of Hydatid Disease Antigens on the Transcriptomic Profile of Mouse Bone Marrow-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells
This study explores the transcriptomic alterations in mouse bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) upon exposure to antigens from Echinococcus granulosus, the causative agent of hydatid disease. Utilizing high-throughput sequencing, we analyzed the mRNA expression profiles of BMSCs treated with excretory-secretory products (ESPs), hydatid cyst fluid (HCF), and particles from the laminated layer (pLL). Our objective was to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and investigate their roles in immune response modulation and cell behavior, including cell cycle and migration. The findings aim to enhance unde...

An incidental diagnosis of an unusually located echinococcus alveolaris
Indian J Pathol Microbiol. 2023 Nov 9. doi: 10.4103/ijpm.ijpm_285_23. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTHydatid cyst disease is a zoonotic infection caused by the genus Echinococcus. Hydatid cysts are usually located in the liver or lungs whereas the brain is an unusual location. A 45-year-old male patient was diagnosed with an intracranial mass suggesting a metastasis in the frontal region shown in the cranial computed tomography (CT) scan following a cranial trauma. The histological evaluation revealed an acellular laminated lesion surrounded with reactive changes, compatible with a cuticle. These findings were evaluated in ...
