How to Approach Patients You Feel Aren't a Good Fit?
So I currently have a patient that strongly feels like a bad fit for my level of experience and skillset. Multiple comorbidities, likely personality disorder, eating disorder, substantial trauma history, really someone that would need an entire team to care for them and I just feel it's a disservice to try and manage them on my own. Anyone afraid to send their kids to school?
I don’t want this to be a political discussion.
But does anyone here feel a degree of safety concern for their kids at school? Or am i the only one -_-
Im really really really hating how elementary schools are being targeted. My kid is 2 years away from elementary school. I just can’t imagine why someone would hurt innocent babies. It takes a special kind of terrible human being to do that - and if that kind of a person makes it alive to an ER then you have to save their life -_-

HELP, please! MS3 on Anesthesia vs neurology.
I’m an MS3 at a mid-tier MD. I’ve always been going for anesthesia but now I’m having second thoughts.
Honored all pre-clinicals but now that I have 2 kids, third year has been tough and I have all passes except for HP in IM and FM. I have just paid for my child board which was 2400$. It is 1900$ but I was a day late because struggling financially as a fellow, they charged me 500$ late fee. Multiple experiences of the same "type"
So I have a good dilemma: I have like 20 meaningful things with meaningful amounts of hours to put into my Activities section.
Some of these things are similar or at least have some connecting thread, i.e. summer camp for kids with epilepsy / summer camp for LGBT+ kids, volunteering at several hospitals but in different roles/depts, several somewhat related jobs within separate industries or sub-disciplines, multiple disparate hobbies, etc.

Loyola (Stritch) vs Creighton (Phoenix)
Blessed to be accepted into multiple medical schools. Barring any other acceptances or waitlist movement, I have narrowed my choices down to these two schools.
Both are similar COA, grading (Loyola P/F vs Creighton H/P/F and clinical), strong hospital rotation sites (Level 1 trauma center, Burn center, Children's, VA, etc), mission, rankings, and matches. What's the deal with EM?
Hi everyone. I am a first-year med student interested in EM. I am really confused why 555 spots did not fill. Can someone please explain this in very simple terms to me, as If you were talking to a child? I don't get why those spots weren't filled if there are still people who have to SOAP for EM. Much closer to family/support network. My own family is within a few hours, my wife's family visits Provo frequently (she has a sibling attending BYU), and we have friends that live in Provo.
Both tuition and cost of living (esp. tuition though) are lower than in Glendale.
