Non-traditional route to Neuro Postdocs
Hello! I’m a graduate student going off to internship this summer. I have been interested in the Neuropsychology route for a while now but unfortunately wasn’t able to land a Neuro internship. In my program we also only have generalist training—not Neuro track. I only had one Neuro prac where due to lack of familiarity with handling very challenging child behavior, my supervisor only allowed me to do the psychoed component of the evals after a couple of months of observing though I’ve done... Micro fulfillment center
Just trying to get insight on the day to day working at microfulfillment center. Recently received a job opportunity. Currently work retail and get paid very well. Just paid off student loans so money isn’t really the biggest factor. Expecting my first child and just took out a mortgage. Pay cut would be at least 40k, but I’m looking for some work like balance. Tired of depending on lazy techs doing their job and callouts. I know that’s unavoidable with any job but I think the problem is... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How to prepare for child boards?
I've been using boardvitals, but not sure if that's enough. Don't really have much time during the day for videos and stuff like BtB, unless it's worth it. Any recommendations? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Doing surgery with mental illness?
I am a non-trad who was a car mechanic before deciding I wanted to become a doctor. I love working with my hands. Furthermore, I have 5 kids and a wife currently and want to make sure I can afford to give them a good future. This has lead me to looking at surgical specialties the most. However, I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Its not as terrible as some, I am able to still complete all my necessary tasks and if I wouldn't tell you that I have this disorder then you likely would never... Young adult client reports father french kissing her as a young child, but client denies anything else happening. How serious is french kissing?
Client says she did not even think about or realize this experience was inappropriate until she was in college and mentioned it to a friend and then a therapist. Client also denies that the experience was traumatizing, not understanding it was abnormal. Despite claiming the memory is not traumatic to her, client appears uncomfortable and cannot look in my direction when discussing it, and also claims that the reason she barely ever sees her father is that she does not want to and... I moved to New Zealand AMA
A year ago I moved with my young family to New Zealand and started working in the public health system here. Our reasons were a mix of wanting an adventure, better work life balance, and a healthier environment for our child. There have been ups and downs but in general we have loved it, and plan to stay. I’ve seen posts of people asking about overseas options, so I’d be happy to provide my perspective to anyone interested. My department also has a few vacancies so…some shameless recruiting.
