Inpatient Admission versus Emergency Department Management of Intussusception in Children: A Systemic Review and Meta-Analysis of Outcomes
Conclusion Management of intussusception in the ED after uncomplicated reduction appears acceptable. However, evidence levels are low, and RCT should be performed to adequately evaluate the safety of outpatient management of pediatric intussusception. Patient-Friendly Summary of the ACR Appropriateness Criteria: Colorectal Cancer  Screening
Cancer in the bowel (colon) can be deadly. It is recommended that everyone over the age of 50 have a screening test to identify early-stage colon cancer and precancerous lumps called polyps. Over time, some polyps can develop into cancer. Available screening tests include colonoscopy, CT colonography (also known as virtual colonoscopy), double contrast barium enema, and stool-based tests like the fecal occult blood test, which looks for blood in the stool. Colonoscopy, CT colonography, and double contrast barium enema screen for both polyps  and cancer, but stool-based tests screen only for cancer. (Source: Journal of the...

Ureterocolic fistula diagnosed on the basis of diuretic renogram and direct radionuclide cystography
We present a case of iatrogenically-induced ureterocolic fistula, diagnosed on renogram and direct radionuclide cystography. This case showcases the possibility of using a renogram study as a diagnostic tool for a suspected ureterocolic fistula. A renogram study also enables to asess the renal function, which is essential in deciding the management. (Source: Journal of Postgraduate Medicine)

Upside-Down Appendix: Report of a Rare Case
ConclusionWith advances in imaging and surgical techniques, asymptomatic malrotation is being detected with increasing frequency. An atypically located appendix can manifest with atypical presentation, which may result in misdiagnosis. Clinicians should be aware that the appendix can have an atypical location. Comparison of Cleaning up Eyelids after Taking off False Eyelashes between Eye Makeup Remover Alone and Eye Makeup Remover with Ocusoft ®.
Conclusion: Most of HD were diagnosed and treated in the newborn period. TERPT is safe and also feasible in all pediatric age groups. The associated DS are related to have more morbidity. HAEC is the most common complication. Even though there are limitations in the diagnostic investigation those did not achieve the standard diagnosis of HD in this study; but the outcomes are not different from the reviews. The improvement in laboratories and pathological investigation services will reflect the surgical service and outcome of pediatric HD in this region. The awareness of post-operative complications will lead to the preven...

Subtotal colonic bypass plus colostomy with antiperistaltic cecoproctostomy for the treatment of slow transit constipation in an aged population: A retrospective control study.
CONCLUSION: Laparoscopic SCBCAC is an effective and safe procedure for the treatment of slow transit constipation in an aged population and can significantly improve the prognosis. Its clinical efficacy is more favorable compared with that of SCBAC. Laparoscopic SCBCAC is a better procedure for the treatment of slow transit constipation in an aged population. Evaluation of laparoscopic-assisted anorectoplasty for the management of intermediate and high anorectal malformations in boys: Mansoura experience
Conclusion Usage of LAARP to manage high and intermediate anorectal malformations in boys is feasible, allowing accurate rectal placement within the muscle complex and with good postoperative functional results. Residual urethral diverticulum occurred more frequently in patients with RBF. Incidence of mucosal prolapse is high after LAARP and should be avoided. (Source: Annals of Pediatric Surgery)

Cytomegalovirus as a cause of colonic stricture-simulating hirschsprung & #39;s disease
We describe a 5-month-old female child with complaints of recurrent abdominal distension, vomiting, and constipation for 2 months simulating Hirschsprung's disease. After barium enema, the baby was taken up for surgery. Intraoperatively, we found a colonic stricture in the descending colon. The biopsy showed localized CMV infection. [Imaging of gastrointestinal inflammation : Characteristic patterns and signs].
This article summarizes common signs and typical patterns frequently seen in inflammatory conditions of the gastrointestinal tract. A systematic approach for structured analysis of specific and nonspecific imaging features and common pitfalls may aid in the interpretation and help to narrow the spectrum of potential differential diagnoses. Are we doing better? Barium enema reduction of intussusception.
Conclusion A significant benefit was achieved by performing delayed interval enema reduction, which contributed to a 61% increased reduction rate, the actual reduction rate approaches 71%. BMP4 knockdown of NCSCs leads to aganglionosis in the middle embryonic stage.
Authors: Li HB, Jin XQ, Jin X, Guo ZH, Ding XH, Wang Q, Liu RZ Abstract Transplacental bone morphogenetic protein (BMP)4 RNA interference (RNAi) is a technique used to knockdown genes in embryos. BMP4 are essential for the development of nervous system in the differentiation of neural crest stem cells (NCSCs). The failure of differentiation and migration of NCSCs may lead to aganglionosis. In the present study, pregnant mice were divided into three groups: Ringer's group, pSES group and RNAi‑BMP4 group. In order to silence the BMP4 gene in the first generation (F1), 11.5 day pregnant mice were injected ...
