AEDV expert recommendations on the management of suppurative sexually transmitted infections
Actas Dermosifiliogr. 2024 Apr 23:S0001-7310(24)00340-5. doi: 10.1016/j.ad.2024.03.034. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe incidence of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) is increasing in Spain. Suppurative STIs are one of the most frequent reasons for consultation in specialized centers. The reason for suppurative STIs is multiple and their empirical treatment varies with the currently growing problem of antimicrobial resistance. Dermatologists are trained and prepared to treat these diseases, but their correct management requires active knowledge of national and international guidelines. The present document updates, ...

Isolation and Identification of < em > Pasteurella multocida < /em > and < em > Mannheimia haemolytica < /em > from Pneumonic Small Ruminants and Their Antibiotic Susceptibility in Haramaya District, Eastern Ethiopia
CONCLUSION: This study showed that M. haemolytica and P. multocida are the common causes of mannheimiosis and pasteurellosis in small ruminants, respectively, and isolates were resistant to commonly used antibiotics in the study area. Thus, an integrated vaccination strategy, antimicrobial resistance monitoring, and avoidance of stress-inducing factors are recommended.PMID:38655561 | PMC:PMC11039012 | DOI:10.1155/2024/5605552 (Source: The Scientific World Journal)

Molecular Characterization of Class 1 Integrons and Carbapenem-Resistant Genes in Enterobacter cloacae Complex Isolates
Curr Microbiol. 2024 Apr 24;81(6):158. doi: 10.1007/s00284-024-03679-9.ABSTRACTEnterobacter cloacae complex (ECC) widely exists in the hospital environment and is one of the important conditional pathogens of hospital-acquired infection. To investigate the distribution of integrons and carbapenem-resistant genes in clinical ECC, 70 isolates of ECC from non-sputum specimens were collected. Class 1 and class 2 integron integrase gene intI1 and intI2, as well as common carbapenem-resistant genes, blaKPC, blaVIM, blaIMP, blaNDM, blaGES, and blaOXA-23, were screened. Gene cassette arrays and common promoters of class 1 integron...
