Consenso del grupo de trabajo de los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria de SENPE (GTTCA-SENPE). Evaluaci ón y tratamiento médico-nutricional en la anorexia nerviosa. Actualización 2023
Nutr Hosp. 2024 Feb 6. doi: 10.20960/nh.05175. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTAnorexia nervosa (AN) is a multifactorial disorder. A possible role of the social network and the gut microbiota in pathogenesis has been added. Exogenous shocks such as the COVID19 pandemic have had a negative impact on patients with AN. The potential medical and nutritional impact of malnutrition and/or compensatory behaviors gives rise to a complex disease with a wide range of severity, the management of which requires a multidisciplinary team with a high level of subject matter expertise. Coordination between levels of care is necessary as wel...

Epidemiological investigation and pathogenicity analysis of waterfowl astroviruses in some areas of China
In this study, we collected 1546 waterfowl samples from 13 provinces in China for epidemiological investigation. The results showed that 260 samples (16.8%) were positive. Four species of astrovirus were detected in 13 provinces except Fujian province. Among the four sites tested, the highest positive rates were found in farms and slaughterhouses. Cross-host and mixed infection were observed in four species of waterfowl astroviruses. The whole genome of 17 isolates was sequenced and compared with published sequences. Genetic evolution and homology analysis showed that the isolated strains had high similarity to their refer...

Development and usability testing of a cognitive-behavioral therapy-guided self-help mobile app and social media group for the post-acute treatment of anorexia nervosa
CONCLUSION: This study provides evidence of feasibility and acceptability of an app and social networking feature for post-acute care of AN. The intervention has potential for offering scalable support for individuals with AN in the high-risk period following discharge from acute care.PMID:38461772 | DOI:10.1016/j.eatbeh.2024.101865 (Source: Eating Behaviors)

Metabolic state modulates neural processing of odors in the human olfactory bulb
Biol Psychol. 2024 Mar 7:108770. doi: 10.1016/j.biopsycho.2024.108770. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe olfactory and endocrine systems have recently been shown to reciprocally shape the homeostatic processes of energy intake. As demonstrated in animal models, the individual's metabolic state dynamically modulates how the olfactory bulb process odor stimuli using a range of endocrine signals. Here we aimed to determine whether the neural processing of odors in human olfactory bulb is modulated by metabolic state. Participants were exposed to food-associated odors, in separate sessions being hungry and sated, while neural ...

A multicenter study of severity and prognosis of symptomatic COVID ‐19 in end‐stage renal disease and non‐dialysis patients in East of Iran
ConclusionBased on the results of this study, it is plausible to suggest a hypothesis of greater severity and worse prognosis of COVID-19 in ESRD patients. Underlying comorbidities, such as liver disorders or more severe clinical symptoms like altered consciousness, may also be indicative of a worse prognosis in dialysis patients with COVID-19.
