Negative feelings and behaviour are associated with low nutritional level, unhealthy lifestyle, and cardiometabolic risk factors in Chilean schoolchildren.
te; A, Alvarez Lepin CG Abstract BACKGROUND: feelings and behaviours are an important tool that should be considered to prevent early unhealthy lifestyles. OBJECTIVE: the objective was to determine the association between feelings (i.e., sadness, loneliness, and school behaviour) with lifestyle (i.e., physical activity patterns and nutritional level), and as secondary endpoint to determine the relationship between health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and lifestyle with obesity and cardiometabolic risk (CMR) factors in Latin American schoolchildren. METHODS: this cross-sectional study included a sample ...

Assessment of the risk of malnutrition due to aspiration pneumonia and oral feeding difficulty.
CONCLUSIONS: patients with difficulty in swallowing due to aspiration pneumonia were at higher risk of malnutrition than were those without these difficulties. These findings suggest that the nutritional status of parenterally fed patients who developed pneumonia may be inherently poorer than that of orally fed patients. [Nutritional impact of radiotherapy in oncogeriatric patients. Can radiation oncologists minimize the radiotherapy impact on the nutritional status of the elderly patient?]
Abstract Cancer in elderly patients represents a global health challenge due to the increase in its incidence and its associated mortality. In our country it is the second leading cause of death in people over 65 years. In the coming years, the problem will increase, with a prognosis of people over 65 years of 35% in 2050. Radiotherapy is an essential part of the multidisciplinary treatment of cancer in elderly patients, where sometimes it is considered as the first therapeutic option and others, as an alternative to surgery and/or chemotherapy if they pose too much risk. The technological development of Radiation...
