Cardiac Team models
Looking for examples of how other groups with dedicated heart teams take call and all the other logistics.
Our hospital/CT surgeons are pushing us to create a dedicated heart team separate from the generalists. They want 4 first starts for the CT surgeons and 1 cath lab daily. Hypoglycemia from intermittent fasting??
I am an anesthesiologist so I’m looking for insight from my IM colleagues, especially endocrine.
My golf buddy claims that he occasionally gets hypoglycemia late in the morning when intermittent fasting. Totally healthy, non overweight 45 year old. No meds. Fasts from 6 pm to 10 am. Says he gets visual disturbances that sound like scotoma, maybe some lightheadedness. Reverses with food. Worse if exercise before food.

Hi everyone,
I will be applying for the 2025 anesthesia match for a direct CA1 spot. I am interested to know if there is a specific list of residency programs which offer these spots under the reserved track? Love my Job - BUT VHCOL making it Extremely Tough!!

About 2.5 years in practice now. I love my job. It has a great breath of cases, great colleagues, great staff, etc. I make decent money, total comp is about $600k (total comp including 401k, insurance, etc) a year and the buy in was almost insignificant. Looks like the base salary is 600k. I wonder if that includes the 4 night calls per week AND the one weekend per month calls? They don't specify if it's 24 hours or if you come in at 3 or so and whether or not you get pre or post-call day off. Listing mentions 10 or 12 hour shifts which has me wondering if it's like that EVERY day of the week. Anybody have any insight into this job? The pay seems great but I wonder if there is a catch
