Predicting haemorrhagic transformation through serum biochemical indices for patients after endovascular treatment: a retrospective study
CONCLUSIONS: The levels of serum biochemical markers were found to show significant changes before and after EVT in ACLVO patients. A combination of demographic data and serum biochemical markers proved to be effective in predicting the occurrence of HT in patients with ACLVO who underwent EVT.PMID:38662104 | DOI:10.5603/pjnns.97759 (Source: Neurologia i Neurochirurgia Polska)

"Inherently Limited by Our Imaginations": Health Anxieties, Politics, and the History of the Climate Crisis
Perspect Biol Med. 2024;67(1):31-62. doi: 10.1353/pbm.2024.a919709.ABSTRACTAs global warming became a cause of concern in the 1980s, researchers and climate activists initially paid little attention to the possible health effects of a warmer world. This changed quickly between 1985 and 1989, when scientists working on contracts with the US Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency extrapolated from existing knowledge about the impact of weather on health to speculate about how global warming would impact health. However, they downplayed the impact of their contributions by highlighting the uncertainty in...

Social care data and its fitness for integrated health and social care service governance: an exploratory qualitative analysis in the Dutch context
Conclusion Although there are several innovative initiatives for the optimisation of the use of social care data in the Netherlands, the current social care data landscape and management is not yet fit to support the new policy initiatives to strengthen integrated health and social care service governance. Directions for addressing the shortcomings are provided. (Source: BMJ Open)

Innovative interpretable AI-guided water quality evaluation with risk adversarial analysis in river streams considering spatial-temporal effects
This study introduces a novel approach for evaluating water quality within a complex riverine zone in South Korea: Han River that encompasses five river streams situated at each junction of North and South streams (including Gyeongan Stream) that ultimately leading towards Paldang Lake. By utilizing the monthly water characteristic data from the year 2013 to 2022 across 14 different locations, the significant seasonal trends and potential influences on water quality are identified. The water quality here is calculated with the proposed method of sub-index water quality index (s-WQI). A combinatorial prediction approach of ...

A hybrid multi-scale fusion paradigm for AQI prediction based on the secondary decomposition
Environ Sci Pollut Res Int. 2024 Apr 25. doi: 10.1007/s11356-024-33346-2. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTWith rapid industrialization and urbanization, air pollution has become an increasingly severe problem. As a key indicator of air quality, accurate prediction of the air quality index (AQI) is essential for policymakers to establish effective early warning management mechanisms and adjust living plans. In this work, a hybrid multi-scale fusion prediction paradigm is proposed for the complex AQI time series prediction. First, an initial decomposition and integration of the original data is performed by combining the compl...

Evaluation of ChatGPT and Gemini large language models for pharmacometrics with NONMEM
AbstractTo assess ChatGPT 4.0 (ChatGPT) and Gemini Ultra 1.0 (Gemini) large language models on NONMEM coding tasks relevant to pharmacometrics and clinical pharmacology. ChatGPT and Gemini were assessed on tasks mimicking real-world applications of NONMEM. The tasks ranged from providing a curriculum for learning NONMEM, an overview of NONMEM code structure to generating code. Prompts in lay language to elicit NONMEM code for a linear pharmacokinetic (PK) model with oral administration and a more complex model with two parallel first-order absorption mechanisms were investigated. Reproducibility and the impact of “temper...

Sensors, Vol. 24, Pages 2710: Enhanced Lightweight YOLOX for Small Object Wildfire Detection in UAV Imagery
Weijun Pan Target detection technology based on unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-derived aerial imagery has been widely applied in the field of forest fire patrol and rescue. However, due to the specificity of UAV platforms, there are still significant issues to be resolved such as severe omission, low detection accuracy, and poor early warning effectiveness. In light of these issues, this paper proposes an improved YOLOX network for the rapid detection of forest fires in images captured by UAVs. Firstly, to enhance the network’s feature-extraction capability in complex fire environments, a multi-level-feat...
