A Prospective Cohort Study Exploring the Effect of Lenvatinib Planned Drug Holidays in Treatment of Differentiated Thyroid Cancer
Conclusions: Planned drug holidays for lenvatinib were associated with significantly improved clinical outcomes compared to daily oral administration. Further investigation of the optimal treatment schedule for lenvatinib is warranted. Genomic landscape and clinical features of advanced thyroid carcinoma: a national database study in Japan
CONCLUSION: Genetic abnormalities with treatment options were found in 62.7% of advanced thyroid carcinomas. TP53 abnormality was an independent poor prognostic factor for overall survival in differentiated thyroid carcinoma. The time to treatment failure for lenvatinib was not different based on genetic profile.PMID:38630010 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgae271 (Source: Clinical Breast Cancer)

Using haematological indices to predict impaired liver function in DTC patients
CONCLUSION: Our results suggest that PC and ALC are independent predictors of hypo-related liver injury. Our study is the first to suggest that haematological indices can be used for predicting the development and progression of hypo-related liver disorders.PMID:38629813 | DOI:10.1967/s002449912700 (Source: Hellenic Journal of Nuclear Medicine)

Muscular Function Recovery from General Anesthesia in 132 Patients Undergoing Surgery with Acceleromyography, Combined Acceleromyography, and Ultrasonography, and without Monitoring Muscular Function
CONCLUSIONS The use of diaphragm ultrasound during the postoperative awakening phase of anesthesia can significantly reduce the incidence of RNMB. This method was non-inferior to the use of AMG during the entire perioperative period.PMID:38627942 | PMC:PMC11034390 | DOI:10.12659/MSM.942780 (Source: Medical Science Monitor)

Does obstructive sleep apnea –induced intermittent hypoxia increase the incidence of solitary pulmonary nodules, thyroid nodules, and other disorders? A retrospective study based on 750 cardiovascular disease patients
ConclusionsPatients combined with OSA may further develop more comorbidities, such as SPN, TN, and carotid-artery plaques. It may be related to intermittent hypoxia caused by OSA. (Source: Sleep and Breathing)

Functional analysis of ESM1 by shRNA-mediated knockdown of its expression in papillary thyroid cancer cells
CONCLUSIONS: ESM1 was identified as a major gene in the occurrence and progression of PTC, which could increase the proliferation, migration, and invasion of PTC cells. It may be a promising diagnostic and therapeutic target gene.PMID:38626010 | DOI:10.1371/journal.pone.0298631 (Source: Cancer Control)
