U.S. public support and opposition to vaccination mandates in K-12 education in light of the COVID-19 pandemic
CONCLUSION: Vaccination mandates in K-12 have broad support among the American public, even in more controversial cases such as HPV and COVID-19. Vocal opposition and growing interest by policymakers to limit or undo vaccination mandates are not supported by the broader public.PMID:37858447 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2023.10.016 (Source: Vaccine)

Vaccination Hesitancy Increasing Among Pregnant Women
More pregnant women in the US were hesitant to receive common vaccinations in 2022 to 2023 compared with 2021 to 2022, researchers reported in the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. Women who reported being “very hesitant” to receive the influenza vaccine increased from 17% to 25% during that period, while hesitancy to receive the tetanus toxoid, reduced diphtheria toxoid, and acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccine rose from 15% to 20%, according to survey data from 1814 pregnant women aged 18 to 49 ye ars. Association between acceptance of routine pregnancy vaccinations and COVID-19 vaccine uptake in pregnant patients
We examined the association between acceptance of tetanus-diphtheria-acellular pertussis (Tdap) and influenza vaccines, considered to be routine pregnancy vaccines, and COVID-19 vaccine acceptance. Secondarily, we identified other predictors of COVID-19 vaccine uptake and described pregnancy outcomes in patients who were and were not vaccinated during pregnancy. (Source: Journal of Infection)

The Impact of Social Media on Vaccination: A Narrative Review
This study examines the influence of social media on coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and non-COVID-19 vaccination in Asia during the peri-pandemic period. Through a comprehensive analysis of available literature, we aim to elucidate the role of SMPs in shaping vaccination attitudes and behaviors. The findings highlight the detrimental impact of social media on vaccination efforts and provide insights into addressing vaccine hesitancy during this critical period. A narrative review was conducted by searching the PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases from inception to May 26, 2022. Only English-language articles i...

Assessment of adherence to routine vaccination schedules in oncology patients
CONCLUSION: Lower vaccine adherence rates were observed in oncology patients compared to currently published rates. Providers and pharmacists can play a role in assessing and counseling patients on the importance of vaccine adherence before chemotherapy is initiated and after a remission is obtained.PMID:37847582 | DOI:10.1177/10781552231208434 (Source: Herpes)
