Zinc-Solubilizing < em > Streptomyces < /em > spp. as Bioinoculants for Promoting the Growth of Soybean ( < em > Glycine max < /em > (L.) Merrill)
This study was conducted to isolate and screen zinc-solubilizing actinobacteria from rhizosphere soils and to assess their effect on vegetable soybean growth. In total, 200 actinobacteria strains belonging to 10 genera were isolated from rhizosphere soil samples. Among these isolates, four showed zinc solubilization with solubilizing index values ranging from 3.11 to 3.78 on Bunt and Rovira agar supplemented with 0.1% zinc oxide. For the quantitative assay, in broth culture, strains CME34 and EX51 solubilized maximum available zinc contents of 529.71 and 243.58 μg/ml. Furthermore, indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and ammonia we...

Field application of biodegradable microplastics has no significant effect on plant and soil health in the short term
Environ Pollut. 2022 Oct 31:120556. doi: 10.1016/j.envpol.2022.120556. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTBioplastics (biodegradable plastics) potentially offer an encouraging alternative to conventional (petroleum-based) plastics. In practice, bioplastics inevitably generate a large number of bio-microplastics (bio-MPs, diameter <5 mm) during the degradation progress. However, the impact of bio-MPs on plant and soil health within agroecosystems remains incomplete. Here, a field study was conducted to investigate the effect of two shapes (fiber and powder) of pure polylactic acid (PLA) bio-MPs on oat (Avena sativa L.) and so...

Genes, Vol. 13, Pages 1922: Effects of Bradyrhizobium Co-Inoculated with Bacillus and Paenibacillus on the Structure and Functional Genes of Soybean Rhizobacteria Community
ngming Cao Jun Li Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) are widely used to improve soil nutrients and promote plant growth and health. However, the growth-promoting effect of a single PGPR on plants is limited. Here, we evaluated the effect of applying rhizobium Bradyrhizobium japonicum 5038 (R5038) and two PGPR strains, Bacillus aryabhattai MB35-5 (BA) and Paenibacillus mucilaginosus 3016 (PM), alone or in different combinations on the soil properties and rhizosphere bacterial community composition of soybean (Glycine max). Additionally, metagenomic sequencing was performed to elucidate the profile of function...

Trypsin Inhibitor Isolated From Glycine max (Soya Bean) Extraction, Purification, and Characterization
Dose Response. 2022 Oct 12;20(4):15593258221131462. doi: 10.1177/15593258221131462. eCollection 2022 Oct-Dec.ABSTRACTThe current study aims to isolate, purify, and characterize the trypsin inhibitor protein from seeds of soya beans, scientifically known as Glycine max. Its seeds were ground, and the powder was soaked several times using n-hexane. It was added to phosphate buffer saline (PBS) followed by filtration and centrifugation of the PBS dissolved extract. The supernatant was subjected to ammonium sulfate precipitation and about six fractions, 30% to 80% were prepared. The centrifuged pellets obtained from each fract...

Antiviral activity of soybean GL 2626/96 (Glycine max) ethanolic extract against influenza A virus in vitro and in vivo
Biomed Pharmacother. 2022 Oct 10;156:113780. doi: 10.1016/j.biopha.2022.113780. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTInfluenza viruses cause respiratory infections in humans with high morbidity and mortality rates. Neuraminidase inhibitors such as oseltamivir and peramivir are the most commonly used drugs for influenza virus infections. However, the emergence of resistant viruses necessitates the urgent need to develop next-generation anti-influenza drugs. Soybean (Glycine max L. Merr.) is widely cultivated and used as food worldwide. In addition, soybean has long been used as a nutritional supplement and herbal medicine. However...
